About this listen

He's no saint.

Jackson "Rowdy" Presley did a dime, and he served his time silently. He could have brought down the real criminals, but instead he took the term and paid the price. Never having loyalty before the Devil's Due MC, he finally has the new beginning he desperately needs.

She's not afraid to call herself a sinner.

Peony Michele Forbes lives her life wherever the wind takes her. She walked away from her past to give herself a future with no restrictions. As much as she wants to forget who she is, others don't want to let her disappear so easily.

However, danger follows her everywhere she goes.

Will Jackson see beyond his jaded connection to Peony and find there is more to life than revenge? When backed to the wall, will Peony let herself trust Jackson to be the one to save her?

Love, hate, anger, and passion collide as the time comes, and the devil demands his due.

Sweet Romance

The MMC always held true to his love for his wife even after how things ended. Narrators did a great job.

Heroine was terrible

This one was difficult to finish. Could not stand the female lead. Hard to root for an unintelligent and selfish character. Thank goodness for Trapper telling her off. He was actually too nice.

🌻Well, this was a disappointment 🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

Even though all of the books, in this series, have been ridiculously short, this is the first one that seemed incomplete. A good part of the book are flashbacks that explain how Rowdy was put into prison for a crime he didn’t commit. The reader/listener doesn’t even get to experience “the Devil getting his due”, like in the other books. There is only about three short scenes, written about the current time and future plans.

It’s really too bad, Rowdy’s whole story of his false conviction, confinement, investigation, appeal and eventual release, could have been a really intriguing full length novel.
