There is an egregious overuse of “assault rifle” and the banter can be cliche and sophomoric, however I’m in it for the long haul. I have to know how all this will end.

Lots of different storylines to enjoy

good story, with a nice c and unusual cast of characters. I enjoy the blend of zombie and the living bad guys.

good

Like Derek's other books in this series, these are just as good. The only problem I had was with the narration. The narrator is good, but it is hard to listen to someone from somewhere else trying to pull off a southern accent. Not that his narration was bad, bu it was hard to listen to the accents being " marred." Overall, great books. Will be listening to the rest of his books in time.

Very good.

Up until now I’ve really been enjoying the Dead America series but this new narrator does not do it. He sounds to refined, to proper, total lack of apocalypse energy. Morgan did a great job with exception of the word roof (ruff, lol) I don’t know why they choose to change her for the rest of the series. Sorry Zion, Terrell, Kersey and the rest I’ll never know what happened to you all.

Why the narrator change?

I really wanted to like this book. There was true potential for me. Many of the main character are extremely likeable, the villains are unlikeable etc. But, I found this story to have too much person on person drama, and not enough zombie gore. So I was left bored and struggling to get through this story.
