About this listen

Ravenous flesh eaters. Desperate survivors. One teenager will take them all down to find his sister.

Fifteen-year-old James barely recognizes the killer he’s become. Still reeling from the loss of his parents, he’s vowed to slaughter as many of the bloodthirsty horrors as he can before they eventually tear him to pieces. But a flicker of hope ignites in his heart when he learns that his sister may still be alive in a California military research center.

Abandoning the safe zone with chasers on their heels, James, his two remaining allies, and his trusty dog Duke search the infested interstate for the mysterious base. But though the highway is crawling with the infected, the gun-toting scavenger survivors may pose a deadlier threat.

Can James and his crew outrun the rising hordes in a daring bid to reunite with his sister?

Executioner is the gripping third book in the fast-paced Dead State post-apocalyptic series. If you like courageous heroes, gritty action, and super-cool zombies, then you’ll love Derek Shupert’s roller coaster road trip.

DANNNGGGG

This series started out with a whiney , spoiled brat. He continued to get worse and at times I wanted to smack him and tell him to shut the f up! But by the end of this book he's starting to grow up and I'm really liking this character. Can't believe I was left hanging... hoping another audio book is coming asap! great narration couldn't have been better. great book and series.

Refreshing Post Apocalyptic Listen

So many of these types of books are written from the adult POV.

This series shows the heart and soul of what happens when it is the innocent teens that must deal with a ruined world.

I feel for these characters and think the pace of their journey is picking up.

The narration doesn’t do the literature justice but if you speed it up a bit it makes the actors shortcomings more palatable.

Great listen and not a LONG like some of this genre tend to be.

Looking forward to the next one!

Not all people in the Apocalypse are bad!

The narrator did a good job bringing the story and characters to life. The adventure continues, first I will say do not kill off Duke or Carrie please! That being said, This audiobook was a roller coaster of emotions for everyone including me (lol) but especially James. The devastation, heartache, and loss that the group has to endure would break most people. I recommend this series to anyone that likes a fast pace and a lot of action storyline. Can’t wait until book 4. In the mean time I will be reading the book Catalyst Book 0. So I can find out how the Apocalypse started.

Best one of the 3

This is an excellent third book in the series – I couldn’t stop listening and I enjoyed it so very much. I think this is the best of all three so far and I’m really looking forward to number four. BC Archer did a really good job telling this story and I highly recommend it.

Sad

Yes I am sad, that Book three is over. These three books of the Dead State Series were such an excellent story, I just want more. Although the story was great, the narration was not, well not to me, I found it likened to reading. the diction was too perfect, I mean this was the Apocalypse for goodness sake, not an English class. That said and done, I want more. 😊
I would recommend these books to friends.

Book 3

Book 3 in this series was very entertaining. I've really enjoyed this young man's journey in the zombie apocalypse. I can not wait for book 4! I received this for free for an honest review.

My favorite so far in the series!

Wow i almost think this is one of my favorites in the series. We see a lot of action in here. Meet characters who are so bad and others that are beyond goodness. The danger that occurs in the one is different from the other. Chasers are still involved but there is the darker side of human nature that shows up. We see James growing beyond his years. He faces life and death every day. His two companions continue helping him search for his sister. Even though James and his companions aren’t related I really feel for them as much I do James. When they have a close call with a chaser or just trying to escape them...I feel their fear as well.

As I am listening to this I am now a bit more cautious of keeping an eye out for chasers. Or going in the basement or any dark room. Crazy I know. But this seems so realistic. Thanks Mr Shupert

This is written very well. I can not wait for the next one to see what happens next. I did listen to this on audio. B.C. Archer did another fantastic job narrating this.
