About this listen

"She never saw anything like it before. She was amazed, and a bit turned on."

Mickey was the new next door neighbor. He was secretly a CIA agent, but couldn't give away his profession to the woman he had to seduce as part of his mission. She just happened to be the general's daughter.

Laurie takes a liking to him, and thinks he's just great. Except for the fact that he keeps asking about her stoner of a roommate, who was her brother. This leaves her puzzled and makes her question if something else is going.

Her brother was Mickey's target. He needed to find out if classified information was being handed over to the Russians.

Mickey needs to find out if Laurie is part of the problem or just plain innocent whose life may be in danger. The only way to do so is to deceive her into thinking he wants her.

But what happens when Mickey actually does fall for her? Will he be able to continue through with the mission? Is Laurie really a traitor? What happens when the Russians do show up and it's a question of life or death?

Deadly Seduction is a romantic suspense novel and is book two of the Romantic Secret Agents Series. There is no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed happy ending!

Great book

Great storyline. I'm not usually one for short stories but I would have to say that this one was perfect. I felt sorry for her situation with her dad and brother. I'm glad she was happy with her final decision (no spoilers here).

AVERAGE HOT LISTEN WITH SOME SADNESS, TOO

Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

This short, fast-paced erotica was fun. It had a lot of “yeah, right” moments, but they’re to be expected in these kind of listens. I’m used to always getting a HEA, and yes there was one but it was sad, too. I didn't like the sad -LOL

I'll wager One Thumb.

Romance, Action & Suspense

I loved this book! Roxy Sinclaire is an author whom I both read and listen to. This book is full of suspense, action and romance, plus forgiveness. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I leave the book synopsis up to the professionals as they are more eloquent in their wording. This book is a standalone listen with its own characters even though it is part of a series. I was engrossed by the story and was glad I could listen to it in one sitting. I thought the narrator, Piper Fairweather, did an excellent performance with the various characters voices and emotions. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook by the author, publisher, and/or narrator.

Good, but...

The plot and narration were good. The characters and some of their actions and decision making skills were a little questionable, but that was all part of moving the story along I suppose. I have pretty high expectations of romantic suspense, so I prefer stronger characters.

Fast paced sexy thriller!

This story packs a lot of excitement, suspense, family drama, and fiery passion in a short listen. I was totally engrossed in what was happening and what will happen next. Laurie is struggling with her irresponsible younger brother, Karl, living in her home. That is until Mickie, the new sexy neighbor moves in next door. Mickie makes her feel so many things that no man has before. As they get to know each other and the sparks fly, Karl is also causing a fire of his own. Soon secrets are revealed, and all their lives are in danger. I really enjoyed the narrator, Piper Fairweather. Her range of emotion and voice changes for each character was captivating bringing the story to life.
Sometimes the characters inner monologue would drag on a bit too long, but then the story would pick up speed and was off and running again.
This is the first experience I've had with both Ms. Fairweather and author Roxy Sinclaire. I really enjoyed this fast paced thrilling story and I look forward to checking out more of their work.

Romantic suspense

What did you like best about Deadly Seduction? What did you like least?

I really enjoyed the characters and the premise of the book, but I felt like so much more story could have been developed and that it would have allowed the characters to develops better or for things to feel less rushed and more natural in someways.

What other book might you compare Deadly Seduction to and why?

Not a specific book but similar to something like the security gaurd/protection romance novels out there.

Have you listened to any of Piper Fairweather’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, and Piper always does a great job. Sometimes I feel like she talks slower than necessary and that can take a bit of the emotion away from her acting but overall she does a great job. No one can be perfect 100% of the time.

Did Deadly Seduction inspire you to do anything?

I enjoyed it while I ran some errands and it kept me moving.

Any additional comments?

I really liked the premise and the story overall, but it was a quick story (just under 4 hours) and I feel that it shows a little. There were parts that I felt could have been developed more to add Realism in some aspects to the characters and their feelings, i.e. Grief, building attraction, guilt, concern, suspicion, confusion. I feel like I was told the characters were feeling these things more than saw them in some instances, and would have liked to have felt the impact of things more. Without that connection, the book takes on an "insta" feel, like instalove etc. I did enjoy the book, but I think it could have been more developed and maybe a little longer in length, which would have helped with some of the aspects I felt just fell a little short. I look forward to listening to more though because I did like it overall. I was provided this book for free for my unbiased review from the author.
