Super!

short-stories, series, law-enforcement, sicily, murder-investigation

Camilleri does great short stories!
Each is pretty much independent of the others except for the continuing characters, and even if a reader has been deprived of other Montalbano books there would be no problem with enjoyment.
Thanks be for the translation by Steven Sartarelli and audio interpretation by Grover Gardner!

Great introduction

This is a great introduction to Inspector Montalbano. Highly recommended. As I read, it put me into the Italian sunshine.

Great story!

Any book or story narrated by Grover Gardner is a good listen. He is my favorite narrator, you can visualize being there by his descriptive voice and very articulate. I love the inspector Monto series!

Amazing

Fantastic stories. Grover Gardner one of my favorite readers and he was perfect for Camilleri’s style. I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the collection.

dated and coarse

disappointing. I normally like all kinds of detective and mystery fiction and grew up on 70's style television, so outdated, chauvinistic characters don't phase me. However this was a couple steps too crude and not nearly as funny as they think they are.
