About this listen

In Scotland, where thrift and a "nice set of dentures" are generally admired, dental surgeon Dr. Frederick Gilchrist’s cheap rates and penchant for pulling teeth have gained him a clientele.

However, wiser Highlanders (like Hamish Macbeth) opt to steer clear of this reputed womanizer’s all-too-busy hands. A blinding toothache sends Hamish Macbeth 120 miles out of Lochdubh to the infamous dentist’s door. Unfortunately for Hamish and Gilchrist, someone has canceled all the doctor’s appointments - permanently. Since everyone is pleased the dentist is deceased - patients, several harassed women, and even his wife - Macbeth faces one of the more biting challenges of his career.

A toothache can drive a man mad, and Hamish, with a mouth full of throbbing pain, decides to go after the killer alone.

Another wonderful story in the series. Maybe one day Hamish and Priscilla will stop annoying one another inadvertently!
Blair is Blair and it is absolutely how, in his quiet way, Hamish manages to get to the right ending.

Hamish is Hamish

Always enjoyed this series. Makes me wish I could go there and enjoy this countryside. Reminds me of a Scottish Columbo, in the way the crimes are solved.

Beaton is always a good read or listen

A few new characters added to make this mystery fun. I enjoy all the other characters and enjoy the series

Love the Hamesh Macbeth series

Love M.C Beaton. Finished the Agatha Raisin series to date. Started the Hamish McBeth series. Does not disappoint.

Great

The story is good and overall enjoyable, but the narrator uses a higher register for Hamish than for most female characters. Annoying!!

This was a very good and well written mystery and as I said the series and characters are my some of my favorites.

I loved it. But then I do love Hamish McBeth

Loved it all from start to finish - noticed less of Priscilla’s touch in Hamish’s day to day- 😔

Typical HAMISH

Nothing is quite as comforting as reading a Hamish McBeth story. I’m not an Agatha Raisin fan but love Hamish!

Oh my ~ Haimish Macbeth has serious dental issues and, as usual, wherever he goes death is sure to follow. OUCH!

Shaun Grindell does a masterful job of narrating this book.

I recommend this cozy mystery.

Haimish Macbeth Has An Ache

Hamish nearly escapes having his tooth pulled out by a terrible dentist. When he arrives at the surgery, he finds the dentist dead in the examination chair. The story builds as Hamish meets an interesting lovely hiker who is a friend of Pricilla’s . She accompanies Hamish on the search for the dentist’s murderer. Good story and the perfect reader.

Another Convoluted Mystery
