Publisher's summary

This hard sci-fi novel is the sixth book in the Stasis Stories, a series of optimistic tales of technological innovation in the near future. They follow Kaem Seba, a young man with extraordinary math talents. With his friends, he’s come up with a device that allows time to be stopped within limited volumes of space-time.

In this sixth story, the company Kaem, Arya Vaii, and Gunnar Schmidt founded to commercially develop his time-stopping discovery is working with NASA to move into deep space.

Using the space tower from book five, they launch large payloads into orbit to start building a rotating wheel space station and launch a successor to the James Webb Space Telescope. Then, they put a space-launch tower on the moon that’s aimed at sending craft all over the solar system.

Unbeknownst to them, the Haliq, a race of aliens in the Epsilon Eridani system is launching its own ships to the Sol system with the intent of finding more space for their burgeoning population. When they arrive, they’re alarmed to find intelligent beings in the system they’ve come to populate, but their obvious solution is to exterminate the problematic humans.

The aliens have an advanced technology that lets them jump across interstellar and interplanetary space.

But they don’t have stasis....

Good story great series

Okay narrator, but it's Ceres, not "Cirrus"! This mispronunciation is sophomoric. The story isn't great but still a good one from a GREAT series!

Did not think it was… I was very wrong

When I saw space hidden enemy is the title I was not… I'd like a sci-fi book… But the author did a great job making Steve's again and a lot of very fun characters. Love the book.

Narrator disappointment

I really liked the narrator of the previous books. I didn’t enjoy this one as much.

Stasis Book 6

I love the Stasis series! The lack in the storyline between the years Stayd opened in Italy, returned to NC and the kids growing into teens left me reeling at the disjointed, pop-up events that bridged book 5 into book 6. Those snippets of brilliance, however, did not totally satisfy the storyline as well as the earlier books did. Still, I will continue to LISTEN to all of Dahners' Stasis, Ell Donsai, Vaz and Proton series whenever these books become available at Audible. Keep pumping out those fabulous reads, Laure!

pretty much all of his books are awesome!

I don't necessarily agree with a lot of his moral views or political ideas in these novels, they are written in a very acceptable way That makes you respect them at the same time. not the best story in the series but another great novel.

Ruined by changing narrators

The story is good enough to keep my interest buy WHY - WHY change the narrator?

The new one is not so much a bad reader, although the previous one did the characters better, but just not a good fit for this story. I might buy this book again if the old reader re-read the last two books

Ineffective narrator, great story

I'm binging on the Stasis Stories and loving it. The new narrator has a flatter and less articulate voice making the story seem less dramatic. Other than that, great book!

Didnt like the "censorship"

Ehh I notices how the narrator "censors" the word "Shit" into "Poo-Poo" and it really throws me off but other than that its still pretty good
