About this listen

Forget everything you know about reality. The quantum world doesn't play by those rules.

Daniel Rice is a government science investigator whose specialty is solving seemingly intractable problems through scientific inquiry.

But Daniel's intellectual strength is sorely tested by the bizarre realities he finds in the quantum world. Extra dimensions of space trap the unwary, probability replaces cause and effect, and time isn't what anyone imagined. The other side of the mirror is a place full of dangers, but it's also somewhere a dedicated scientist can uncover secrets that connect humans with something greater.

Overly simplistic story

Traditional science good, everybody else is bad and dumb tropes. I am a nerd so loved the depth on the technology.. The first book was the best. The second was a bit too over the top on its anti-capitalist bent, and the plot of the third book was just silly. I am sorry, but a new war would not empower religious fundamentalists to take over the country... it is just not believable. The relationships with the main character and the lack of fallout because of it is not very believable either. While the macro stroy idea is good, but the plot devices and subplots are too fake. It was a bit of a chore to finish the book to find out what happened. I am also disappointed that the subterfuge from Core that was established in book 2 was not explored more in book 3.

I agree with the author

Some reviers don't like the politics brought up in these stories. However, there is a danger that this prophecy could come true. There's an opposition to being Woke. There are those that want us to go back to sleep and ignore the injustices against people who are different than us. I enjoy diversity and would find people who are the same as me very boring. The bigots and haters that are re-, emerging in this country are dangerous. I can clearly see such a plot as described in these stories as a real possibility. It has been proven that some will go to any length to ensure their continued hold on power over others.

Excellent Listen all the way through

This three volume set is almost 34 hours long, but there was never a single moment when it lost my attention. Filled with very complicated scientific principles, but always explained at a level that the average non-scientific person could comprehend. Made me say “Wow” several times. I am in awe of the author’s ability to write such a complicated story in understandable terms and with characters that seemed entirely realistic. Each of the three narrators did a super job too. This was an excellent listen and a great value at just one credit.

Good series with some odd times

When they are in the dance room and that girl offers information if they were in private and he acts like a complete dodo brain when she is obviously trying to tell him a secret without people knowing. That is cheap, ridiculous writing and the series would get 5 stars if it wasn't for these moments where the key players turn into morons to move the plot along. Few and far between but so annoying.

Terrific Time Travel Sci-Fi

The book has a solid baseline in current scientific understanding giving the story the plausibility needed for great science fiction. I loved this trilogy for its realistic characters and thought provoking science.

Interesting but dry

I enjoyed the trilogy. The science and the mind boggling twists were quite good. But at times it was quite dry too. More and deeper relationships between everyone would’ve made it less dry.

Three in one

This is definitely worth a read. I enjoyed some of the ideas about interdimensional travel, and time travel. I especially enjoyed time travel. There are so many different ways and convoluted methods for creating paradoxes and alleviating them that I have a very enjoyable time imagining all of the possibilities.

Movement in time … Wow

This is the third book in the Quantum Series. You need to read the other two first to understand what is going on. It follows one man’s trip to the future and his struggles to get back to his time. Many exciting turns.

I don’t give too many 5 stars and I struggled if to give this one. It does a great job combining science and a wonderful story, I just had to rate so well.
