About this listen
Charlie Giles is at the top of his game. An electronics superstar, he’s sold his startup company to a giant Boston firm, where he’s now a senior director. With his dog, Monte, at his side, Charlie is treated like a VIP everywhere he goes.
Then one day, everything in Charlie’s neatly ordered world starts to go terrifyingly wrong. His prestigious job and his inventions are wrenched away from him. His family is targeted, and his former employers are dying gruesomely, picked off one by one. Every sign, every shred of evidence, points to Charlie as a cold-blooded killer. And soon Charlie is unable to tell whether he’s succumbed to the pressures of work and become the architect of his own destruction, or whether he’s the victim of a relentless, diabolical attack.
In a desperate struggle to save his life, Charlie races to uncover the truth, all the while realizing that nothing can be trusted - least of all his own fractured mind….

In the mornings, he gazes out the train window at the lavish homes of the uberwealthy, dreaming about joining their ranks. Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

Delirious
This was a good read. It did start off very slow. A lot of details and spending a lot of time on too much mental stuff. But it all played together well and the ending was quite good. A very good twist that was surprising. The narrator did a very good job also.

Great Suspense!
Big fan of Daniel Palmer books and this one does not disappoint!! I love all of the unexpected twists and turns, and just when you think all is hopeless for the mIn character, well you will have to read for yourself. Peter Berkrot does a stellar performance of narration of this book.

Good book brought to life by excellent narrator.
I purchased this book on a whim, after reading the publisher's synopsis and I'm very glad I did. The readers' reviews were not consistent; some good, some bad, so I was pleasantly surprised by thoroughly enjoying this book. With 3 main absorbing and well defined characters and sprinkling of other interesting characters throughout, the theme centres on a mixture of extra-modern technological communication devises and mental illness. The plot, the story, moves along at an enjoyable pace with the expected twists and turns until a somewhat unexpected climax. Peter Berkrot did an excellent 5 star narration and brought the characters and the story to life. If you're looking for good suspense: something a bit different - just a little surreal - then this is the read. I hope you enjoy it too.

His dad is great but the son has a long way to go.
I was hopeful that this would be a good book (or I wouldn't have bought it). I am certainly willing to suspend disbelief when I read/listen to fiction, but this was ridiculous as far as being so far beyond reality - I just couldn't stomach it. I listened at double speed and still couldn't wait for it to be over. He has potential as far as coming up with a unique story so I'll keep on the lookout in the future... my recommendation to others is to skip this one.
