About this listen

Private Investigator Lacey Fitzpatrick and Navajo Medium Sam Firecloud are called in by the Director of Mission San Juan Capistrano to unravel the mystery surrounding an evil presence that is threatening the mission’s people and its liability, maybe its very existence. While Lacey digs into the research, Sam pulls out all the stops, planning to fight fire with fire and witchcraft with...witchcraft. Lacey finds his methods disturbing, but knows they have to combat the ancient, supernatural force that has killed before, and may very well kill again.

another great listen

I liked this one a lot more than the previous book. In this one, Sam and Lacey are trying to discover who or what is behind the evil presence terrorizing a neighborhood. My favorite character in this one was the 101 year old great grandmother. I was also really happy Ben made an appearance. I liked the magics used during rituals in this book. Multi-denominational and i loved that. I like that Sam and Lacey's relationship is realistic and not just ooey-gooey romance BS. I'm always eager to find out what happens next.
I listened to the audio book. It was read by Laura Wilson. As with the previous 5, she does a great job giving voice to these great characters.

Fun Paranormal Series

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and any opinions expressed herein are my own.

This is the sixth book in the Lacey and Sam Mystery series. Each one is a standalone book with a complete ending [no cliffhangers]. You can really read them in any order but I do recommend that you read them in order as the relationship between Lacey and Sam develops with each book.

This mystery is different from the other books in the series thus far. First, Sam and Lacey are experiencing a bit of publicity, given their success of their prior cases. Second, the spirit is not seeking help but doing evil at the San Juan Capistrano Mission. My favorite character in this mystery is the 101-year-old great-grandmother who has some tricks up her sleeve. In addition, one of the most likeable members of Sam's family makes an appearance to provide some help. I really enjoy the manner in which Sam and Lacey go about working out the mystery and their very realistic and relatable relationship.

The narrator, Laura Wilson, is the same for the entire series. She does a great job.

Excellent !

private-investigators, spirits, evil, mission, navajo, catholic, power

Navajo medium Sam and ex-cop Lacey are called in by the Catholic mission at San Juan Capistrano to investigate and exorcise the evil residing close to the school they run. It seems to be contained on the property of a 101 year-old Spanish speaking great grandmother who knows a thing or two about evil and the rituals she has used for years. Fascinating! I loved it!
The narrator needs a soundproof booth and to learn the difference between Calvary and the cavalry, bur does very well otherwise.

Another fabulous mystery

Demon Walk is another amazing book in this series. Sam and Lacy have gotten themselves into another mystery but this one is a killer. I am happy that Sam and Lacy are working out their differences. The characters grow stronger with each book and you are able to see the growth. The narrator Laura Wilson did a phenomenal job on this book. I am truly addicted to this series and I can't wait for the next book. Melissa Bowersock has become one of my favorite authors because her books are creative and imaginative but also hold bits of the truth.
