Publisher's summary

James Stark, a.k.a. Sandman Slim, has a new job, but being the new Lucifer in town gives fresh meaning to the word "Hell." Especially when he hears of hideous massacres near a haunted fortress out on Hell's frontier.

As far as Stark's concerned, the more dead Hellions, the better, but he still has to prove that no one screws with Sandman Slim. And facing creatures so terrible even Hell does not want them is no cakewalk, even for Lucifer.

Short but Decent Enough

My guess is this creates a back story, This was a little too short for my liking, But still decent enough to listen. On to the next one.

Good but short

The story was easy and entertaining like the rest so far on the series. However I was surprised to find how short the book actually was. It's nice to hear what is going in with good old Stark, but right when I was getting really into it it was over. Next book here I come

UNICORN SALAD

NOT BEING KILLED IS PRETTY HIGH ON MY AGENDA
You don't pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger and you don't mess around with Slim. Slim is still the bad A as in all the other books and he is still sarcastically witty. If you have not read Sandman, I would suggest you start at the beginning, that was by far the best book. The rest of the books have less story and are pretty much all about the sarcasm. I love this type of dry humor, but plot lines and lack of new interesting characters keeps me from being too interested. I might venture into some of Kadry's other universes, but I think I am done messy around with Slim.

HIGH PLAINS DRIFTERS OR ZOMBIES
MacLeod Andrews does great work and is a positive factor in deciding on what books to read.

An enjoyable filler story

Since the story is labeled as a 3.5 story I wasn't expecting anything overly fantastic. However, this is an enjoyable little side story though nothing is missed if you don't read it.
