About this listen

Nevada Frida Baylor and Connor Ander Rogan cordially invite you to join their wedding celebration. Summoning, weather manipulation, and other magical activities strictly forbidden.

Catalina Baylor is looking forward to wearing her maid of honor dress and watching her older sister walk down the aisle. Then the wedding planner gets escorted off the premises, the bride’s priceless tiara disappears, and Rogan's extensive family overruns his mother’s home. Someone is cheating, someone is lying, and someone is plotting murder.

To make this wedding happen, Catalina will have to do the thing she fears most: use her magic. But she’s a Baylor, and there’s nothing she wouldn't do for her sister's happiness. Nevada will have her fairy-tale wedding, even if Catalina has to tear the mansion apart brick by brick to get it done.

We Are Not Done With The Baylors

So far I have not read a Ilona Andrews series I did not love. The world building these authors create is amazing! However, I was disappointed that the Hidden Legacy Series was so short. Clearly there were so many more Rogan, Nevada and Baylor stories to tell. And here we are with Diamond Fire, a novella about Rohan’s and Nevada’s wedding. The story being told from the POV of Catalina as she investigates the theft of Nevada’s wedding tiara was more than a pleasant surprise. As Catalina gains more insight into the messed up dysfunctional family her sister is marrying into, the readers gain more insight into the talents of newly formed House Baylor’s more interesting prime. Catalina is a force to be reckoned with. One can’t help but feel that this book is a prelude to a new series. #UrbanFantasy #Magical #FemaleProtagonist #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Nice wrap up Novella

It’s a nice short story that continues some of Rogan and Nevada’s story - just from Catalina’s point of view. The world is the same but the main character shifts to her and how she uses her magic to help make a wedding happen for Rogan and Nevada. Keeps the flavor or Primes, magic and the like but not as developed as the longer books. Overall - enjoyable that it continues a world and story I enjoyed very much. Would like more of these sisters stories. Plus one of Grandma Frieda.

I must be immune to the siren charm

I love Ilona Andrews but I found Catalina to be unlikeable and judgmental. I don’t know if it’s her disdain for others or her rigid control of her powers but she needs to loosen up. Nevada was kind of like this when we first met her so maybe Catalina will grow on me as her character grows. I also found myself bristling at the way Nevada is portrayed to be petty and insufferable by her family.

Beautiful wedding for an excellent series

This fourth book in the hidden legacy series is told from second sister's point of view. In keeping with the other three books, when Nevada scares off the wedding planners, Catalina and Arabella take over. Planning a large wedding that will be attended by Houston's magical elite is sufficiently difficult all by itself, but it is complicated by the discovery that Rogan, although an only child, has a whole raft of uncles, aunts, and cousins on his mother's side of the family.

The novella is a charming and enlightening view of the Baylor family, and we learn a great deal more about Catalina and her talents. Readers are advised to read the other three Hidden Legacy novels before reading this novella. It could stand alone, but it is more meaningful as the capstone for Nevada and Conner Rogan's romance. The small mystery, a missing tiara traditionally worn by the brides in Conner Rogan's mother's family, comes to an enchanting and rather touching conclusion, even though some of the revelations along the way are a bit more grim.

WOW!!!

This was an excellent way to continue “The Hidden Legacy” series!! Catalina has evolved into a great leading character and can carry a full length story on her own!! I can’t wait for the next installment!! Hopefully it will be a full length story and have Alessandro in it!

Ilona Andrews all ways Delivers!

While we go thru the changeover from, Nevada point of view to Catalina's. We also transition from our beloved narrator Ms. Raudman to the welcomed new voice of Ms. Rankin. This story was a refreshing way to tie up the old story line and move forward with a new leading charater and a new narrator. While Catalina's powers and back story will bring me back for the next book. I can only hope Ms. Rogan is there to help Catalina along the way. I already love Rogan's mother, and the bedazzler!#Shifters #UrbanFantasy #Magic System #Romance #Author Lords #tagsgiving, #sweepstakes

Catalina to the Rescue.

Ilona Andrews are my favorite writing duo. I love the romance, the action, the comedy and especially the characters. I look forward to everything they write. This book is no exception and I anticipate more from Catalina and her family. Rogan’s family on the other hand are questionable, but I loved his mom and I loved the little girl with the bedazzler. Of course, I wish this was a longer book and I felt like the bad guy was caught to easily that this could have been a longer book. I love Rene Raudman as a narrator and Emily Rankin did a good job.

My only complaint about this book is that it is too short. I do like that we get to meet Rogan's family and that Catalina's character is more developed. I've been waiting a long time for the next book in this series and this is a nice tie over for the next book.
