Critic reviews
"The landmark series was Dimension X, which was broadcast by NBC....It was the first radio series to treat science fiction in an adult way." (Mike Ashley, Transformations: The History of the Science-Fiction Magazine 1950 to 1970)
Would you try another book from Robert Heinlein and/or the narrator?
I have read Heinlein before and his books are great or terrible. I enjoyed this one as it was simple and poignant. What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Satisfied. What about the narrator’s performance did you like?
The characters were well made. I liked the thinking that in the future we would have so many rockets that carnivals would have them to give you a pretend ride. Simple but only the big parks can do that. Disneyworld and Kennedy Space Center come to mind.If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No, it would not make a good movie. Not enough action or plot to expand to a full movie.Any additional comments?
A story about a pioneer in the space agency with a bad heart who finally gets his wish to be in space.Tender story about a man getting his wish.
