About this listen

Pretending to be a hot hockey player’s girlfriend shouldn’t be a problem.

Except when that player is my brother’s teammate, Foster Craig, with the body of a god and a British accent that melts the panties straight off my lady bits. Did I mention that I might have a teeny crush on him?

But after a picture of an accidental kiss goes viral, he makes an offer I’d be hard-pressed to refuse. A few dates in exchange for a lot of money. It seems harmless enough. And besides, I have a dead car, a baby to take care of, and a romance novel to write.

I just have to remember: No. More. Hockey. Players. Especially one who scores more off the ice than on.

Even if he comes to my rescue after my car breaks down. Or attempts to make me a cake for my birthday. Or dances with my two-month-old son when he thinks I’m not watching. I'm trying to resist him, but when he offers to help me test out "positions" for the novel I'm writing, things get a little...complicated (And I’m not just talking about the reverse wheel barrow with a corkscrew twist).

And I find myself breaking my rules one by one.

If I take my heart out of the penalty box, am I going to end up being checked by yet another player?

Dirty Devil is a laugh-out-loud, steamy fake-relationship/single-mom/reformed-playboy sports romance featuring a British hockey player with a fancy peen and his teammate's little sister with an addition to spicy books. This book is a full-length stand-alone with no cheating, cliff-hangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧Sweet & Spicy!

I was completely enthralled by this wonderfully delightful steamy sport romance that tugged at my heartstrings. It is my first Melissa Ivers’ book, and I enjoyed her writing style and the story she created, which is interesting and entertaining. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about and root for too. Foster Craig is a player both on and off the ice since he is more of a “love them and leave them” type of guy with no interest in having a relationship. Avery Remington, a single mom, she always had a crush on her brother’s friend and teammate Foster, but she is done with hockey players. Besides, he only sees her as his friend’s younger sister, not to mention she is not his usual modelesque type. When she had car troubles she tried calling her brother but he did not answer, so she called Foster, who came to her rescue. He was getting unwanted attention from a puck bunny and introduces Avery as his girlfriend and lands a passionate kiss on her, which was caught on camera. The photo went viral and his agent suggested it would be good for his image if he was in a committed relationship. He comes up with a plan, proposes the idea to Avery and makes her an offer she finds hard to refuse. I loved these two together and for each other and all goes well until it doesn’t and Foster’s insecurities get the best of him. The writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. I adored Avery, an aspiring author who finds “her people” at a bookstore she stopped in and then the bookclub they invited her to join. Foster had a good heart, and he was great with her son. This story has the perfect balance of drama, charm, witty dialogue, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Melissa Ivers, thank you for this fantastic story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 James Cortes and Philip Miller did a great job portraying the characters, giving each a voice that was fitting and believable. Cortes’ Foster was spot on, a swoon worthy player and so much more. Miller aced it as Avery, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her insecurities to her strength and determination to her passion. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the fantastic listen.

Single Parent

I have loved this whole series, but this book might be my favorite. This book sucked me in from page one. Foster will have you swooning. A hot hockey player with a British accent. That treats your baby amazing.

Avery has been through some things that have made her close off on idea dating any more hockey players. She built walls up to protect her heart. Especially considering she has a baby to take care of as a single mother. Foster quickly becomes part of their lives. And we see such a caring side to him. They have so much attraction and chemistry. Really enjoyed this book.

I read the ebook and then got the audio, and that was even better. The narration was so well done.

fun sports romance

Foster Craig is a confirmed bachelor-No relationships, only hookups with the puck bunnies. Until his new manager saw a viral photo him kissing Cinderella at a costume party.
He came up with the idea that Foster needs to be in a fake relationship . His previous manager made bad business decisions that cost him sponsors,. plus his contract is coming up for renewal.
What more would look good than to be in a stable relationship?
Avery wants no part of it since she was previously dumped by her hockey player boyfriend.
Their fake relationship becomes more hard to resist to becoming real.
Phillipa Miller and James Cortes narration was fantastic and a enjoyable listen.

Very sexy English hockey player in great rom-com!

Foster Craig is so hot he might melt your earbuds or fog up your car windows!  He is a hockey player with a light cockney English accent (I know there are very few British hockey players in reality, but what a great romance hero!).  This is the fourth book in this Nashville Devils series, but I was fine reading it out of order.  Avery Remington is a nice single mom who secretly wants to be a romance writer.  Avery has a pro hockey player brother, and the brother’s hot English teammate Foster needs a fake girlfriend.  Avery and Foster have secretly been attacked to each other for months.  It took a few chapters for the plot to really get going, but I was quite pleased.  The story is told in the alternating first person perspectives of Foster and Avery.

This audiobook has lots of four-letter words, but it all sounds so charming and appropriate for a young man who grew up in a working class family in London.  This rom-com has the hottest, most graphic bedroom scenes that I have read in a while.  I applaud the author Melissa Ivers for her writing talent in that regard.  I subsequently bought the other audiobooks in the series, and I can’t wait to listen to them.  I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves steamy rom-coms or steamy sports romances.

I was blown away by the outstanding performances of Philippa Miller and James Cortes.  These two narrators matched all of the character voices so well that I don’t see how it was even possible.  James Cortes’s voice for Foster Craig is so sexy, and Phillippa Miller manages to match the hotness!  The character Avery grew up in Los Angeles, so her lack of a Southern accent in Nashville is entirely appropriate.  I love how Phillippa Miller brought Avery’s fun internal monologue to life.  The narrators substantial elevated the entertainment value of an already awesome rom-com novel.  I listen to  many audiobooks, and these narrators are truly top tier.

I requested and received a free audio copy, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.  #PFPAudio #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlockVIPReviewTeam

Excellent Listen!

This is the first book I've read/listened to by Melissa Ivers. She wrote well with a great storyline and easy to like characters. It was an excellent standalone, but I really want to go to the beginning to learn more about the other couples. I did not want to pause the audiobook.

James Cortese and Phillipa Miller are excellent narrators. Both are new to me and I loved their voices. Their performances were emotional and had the audiobook rolling like a movie in my head. Perfection.

Loved this story!

This was my first book by Melissa Ivers and I absolutely loved it!!! Avery is a single mother and said she would never date a hockey player again since the father of her baby wanted nothing to do with her or his son. She is friends with her brother’s teammate and friend, Foster, and always had a crush on him. They wind up in a fake dating situation and we know how that usually ends up. Foster used to be a playboy, but I loved seeing him change his ways and fall for Avery. The two of them together were great as they found their way through their issues. I loved this story so much! James Cortes and Phillipa Miller were new narrators to me and were fantastic! They portrayed the characters perfectly and showed all the emotions for the story. I loved the narration!

I enjoyed this audiobook

I enjoyed this audiobook, as it had lots of humor, some angst, and of course hockey players. And Foster's sweet side with Avery and especially baby Mason... melt your heart moments there. I think I was surprised at the depth to this story. Lots of emotions and past hiccups that shadowed present day for both characters to get past. A crazy neighbor and her shenanigans along with the rest of the team had ne laughing. I haven't read the previous books, and while that is not necessary to enjoy this standalone, I definitely want to go back and check those out. Avery's brother/Foster's fellow teammate made an impression on me with his interactions in this book, so definitely want to hear his story now. The narrators James Cortes with his accent and Phiilipa Miller brought the story to life as Foster and Avery stumbled to their HEA after an unconventional beginning.

Dirty Devil is the fourth book in the Nashville Devils series. What a fun fake dating, hockey romance!

Foster and Avery were such a great couple. The chemistry was off the charts and Foster had me swooning hard. Lots of witty banter and great team antics. Melissa Ivers delivers all the feels in their love story!

Phillipa Miller and James Cortes did a great job portraying these characters.

Couldn't Stop Listening!

Curvy Single Mother pretends to be Hot Hockey Players girlfriend who just happens to be her brother’s best friend/teammate, what could go wrong? Foster Craig is not the relationship type but with Avery and her son Mason have him feeling all sorts of ways. I loved the balance of banter, steam and angst. This was my first book I’ve listened/read of the series and I will be looking into the others. I loved how the narrators did the accents because when I read I never quite get them right in my mind so listening makes it so much easier to imagine!

so many things to love

Foster, Foster, Foster.... How you can wreck me!

Out of this series, Foster and Avery's story is my favorite so far! That British hockey player and sweet, sweet single mama are absolutely everything together.

This book had so many of my favorite tropes that I can't even tell you. I loved it!

This could be read as a standalone, but it's better to be read as the series because each book couple kind of plays off the other one.

I did listen to this one on audio, and the narrators did a fantastic job.
