Publisher's summary

Rule number one of hockey team ownership: Don't sleep with the players.

Growing up Oliver Benson's daughter, I've known this rule all my life. And when I unexpectedly inherit the Nashville Devils, his hockey team, all eyes are on me - waiting for me to fail.

My eyes? They're on Lincoln Dallas, team captain and star right winger.

Who could blame me? That body. Those eyes. The way he moves on and off the ice. And when he gives me even the slightest touch, I find myself giving in.

But he's completely forbidden.

Not only would dating destroy both our careers, but our history left a bruise on my heart, and I never want to make that mistake again. Especially when it would compromise everything I've worked for.

He says he's willing to break the rules and risk it all. Am I?

Disappointed

The storyline was predictable, the male voice made all the dialogue sound cringey and almost impossible to get through. I’m also incredibly disappointed that the FCM had to give up something in order to be with the guy.

The Missing Linc

My Review:
4 ⭐️ 3 🌶️

For a debut, Melissa Ivers nailed it with the sass, steam, and heart in the first book of the Nashville Devils series, Forbidden Devil. It’s cocktail of secrets, tension, and sizzling chemistry. Linc and Jazlyn reunite after years apart, and Linc’s caveman routine is both hilarious and heart-melting—he's still playing knight in shining armor like it’s his full-time job. Meanwhile, Jazlyn’s too busy being an absolute boss, literally running the show, while Linc’s chasing Stanley Cups. Their banter? Pure gold. Their chemistry? Intense. Watching them try to resist each other was adorable—because let’s be real, no one's resisting Linc for long.

I’m already lined up for book two!

Mehh

There was a lack of character development, and it felt just thrown together. Knew where the plot was going the whole time. I wish more time would have been spent developing the back story and connection they formed then. It would help understand the relationship in the current time and why they are drawn together. Not just we hung out a 1 month, 6 years ago. Listened to the whole thing but probably won't listen to any sequels.

Forbidden Devil

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. It is a second chance hockey romance. Jazz and her brother find themselves as the owners of the Nashville Devils hockey team after their dad dies. The issue is she has a history with Lincoln from when they were both in the Olympics. Now both find themselves together again with the spark still glowing bright, but both trying to figure out what they really want. I love Jazz she was such a strong woman who goes for what she wants.

Narrators were very good. I listed to the story at 1.7 & it still felt well cadenced. Jazz & Lincoln’s love story was very cute. I loved their buildup. The ending didn’t go as expected so that’s always fun. Can’t wait for more Devil’s hockey men.

Wonderful hockey read

Oh! I loved this story! The writing was amazing and the narration was top notch! I loved how you could tell the different characters by the different accents done and I loved how you could feel the emotion through the narrations! So wonderfully done!

Terrible

First it was the male voice, he sounds like a frat guy no one likes. The male story line is fine but the way he reads it just turns you off to the character. I got over it, until the end. That was the worst ending ever. For a story that started out with "girl power" to end so terribly far from that. Just not sure of why the build up for that to do away from it. Waste of time and didn't want to finish it.
