About this listen

Racism. Immigration. Gun violence. Sexuality. Health care. The number of ethical issues that demand a response from Christians today is almost dizzying. How can Christians navigate such matters? What are faithful responses to these questions?

Edited by two theologians with pastoral experience, this volume invites engagement with these issues and more by drawing on real-life experiences and offering a range of responses to some of the most challenging moral questions confronting the church today.

With an unflinching yet irenic approach, this resource can help Christians as they seek to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

Very disappointing!

I had such high hopes when I bought this audiobook and was hoping to get biblically based responses to difficult ethical questions. Instead, the contributors seem to mix biblical theology with psychology and pneumatology in their analysis of topics. The emphasis is very clearly anti-Evangelical and pro-liberal in orientation. Each contributor is supposed to present three views and then give his/her opinion on the matter. More often than not, the first view presented is Evangelical and some biblical passages were quoted, the next two views then attack the evangelical position as not in line with social/psychological reality or as not in line with the "spirit of love" without firm Scriptural support. The contributor would then give his/her opinion affirming and thanking the latter positions.
I had hoped for the book to address difficult ethical questions and provide guidance based on solid biblical exegesis. As a follower of Christ, I do not want to base my ethics on ephemeral world views, psychological trends and pneumatology. The Spirit of Truth testifies to Christ and his Word, and those alone should be our bedrock of assurance as we navigate through ethical dilemmas.

A pitiful excuse for a book on Christian ethics

This is more political ideological and doesn’t address core Christian ethics. This could be a manual for the socialist agenda disguised as a Christian book. In my humble opinion it is shameful,
