Publisher's summary

To avoid being sent across an ocean, Grace switches places with her sister. The only man aware of their deception? A dear friend, and her secret love.

Grace Everly has no desire to set sail for the Caribbean, unlike her adventurous twin sister, Hope. Thanks to her sister’s irresponsible behavior and subsequent banning from the journey, Grace’s father decides to send her in Hope’s place. Desperate to remain where things are familiar, Grace proposes an unthinkable plan: that she and Hope switch places. They only have to keep up the act long enough for Hope to board a ship in London. When the man who has stolen Grace’s heart learns of their secret, things get more complicated.

Jacob Barnes, soon to be ordained a vicar, has known Grace and Hope his whole life. Though close to both sisters, he’s dreamed of courting Hope for months. When he realizes his friends have switched places, putting the woman he admires out of his reach, he agrees to help with the subterfuge despite his bruised heart. As he watches Grace stumble in her acting abilities, attempting to change who she is, he realizes how much she means to him. But how does he tell her, without risking their friendship?

The deception puts their relationship to the test. As Grace hides her heart and her identity, Jacob examines his feelings, and no one in their community will be happy when the truth is discovered.

This is the second book in the Inglewood series and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone sweet Regency romance.

Twins!

Discovering Grace is a sweet and clean regency listen. I loved the premise of twins changing identities, especially in that time period. Grace and Hope had a challenging ruse to perform. Once they succeeded, they had to keep it up. I loved how Grace developed in the story. Marian Hussey was wonderful bringing the characters to life. She gave them distinguishable voices which is important to me. With her British voice, it fit the storyline perfectly. This was my first listen by the author, and I loved it. I will most definitely listen to more books by her.

lovely and unique

mistaken identity, but better! Sally britton is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. her stories have depth and heart and a unique approach to common tropes that makes her stories fresh. clean, sweet, swoony. and a wonderful reader for the audio. looking forward to when Sally's other books are published in audio. it is my favorite to pass the time while washing dishes or folding laundry.

Jacob and Grace get all the heart eyes

I’m rounding up a bit because I love this author, even if I really wanted to shake a couple of people. Hahahaha. However, this author just wraps you into her stories until you are completely invested in a happily ever after, which they both richly deserved. Jacob and Grace were lovely. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

A Charming Romance

WHAT IT'S ABOUT
To avoid being sent across an ocean, Grace switches places with her sister. The only man aware of their deception? A dear friend, and her secret love.

MY TAKE
Except for the first book, I've read these out of order. lol I already know of Grace's twin's adventures, so it was fun to find out what lead up to that. This is another touching romance. It's interesting how well Grace and Hope suit each other. They were both fulfilled different functions in activities they arranged, sharing ideas and such. But it was Grace who did the behind-the scenes stuff while Hope was the master of ceremonies. But everyone thought Hope did it all.

I felt bad for Grace, knowing that Jacob cared for Hope. It would have been crushing think he was confusing the two of them in his mind when he almost kissed Grace. There's a lovely resolution, and I was really proud of Grave for finally standing up for herself.

I listened to the audiobook. As usual, Marian Hussey did a wonderful job.

An enjoyable read

So far, I have enjoyed all of Sally Britton’s books that I’ve read and this one was no different. The writing was well done and the plot flowed naturally. It was interesting seeing the characters reflect and grow throughout the story.

The narration brought the story to life and I will be sure to seek out other books narrated by Marian Hussey.

Great sequel

It is fun to see how these characters are growing and changing. The first book shared some underlying tension, and this one helped to clear some of it up. The narrator is enjoyable to listen to, the characters fun. Enjoyable listen!
