About this listen

Sparks are flying between these best friends. Could a practice kiss change everything?

Seventeen-year-old Eliana Costa has never kissed a guy. Her best guy friend, Jess, is more than willing to help her out. He has plenty of experience, since he finds a new girlfriend every other week. But when a practice kiss brings on feelings Eliana hadn't bargained for, her already messy life is thrown into a new level of chaos.

Life is already more than she can handle after her dad's disappearance. Eliana worries that if she admits her feelings to Jess, she just might lose her best friend. And right now, a best friend is all she needs. But when another girl tries to date Jess, Eliana is forced to decide if taking a chance on love is worth the risk.

Good story. The characters seemed a lot older than their age. The voices of the male were hard to take. The Italian dad sounded more like he was from Pennsylvania.

Good story

I really enjoyed listening to these characters romance! I loved the family drama that was added to it as well

Wow

I liked it but it had more depressing moments than in the first one. Also it veered into the “two lovers who are meant to be but everything and everyone tries to keep them apart” trope in the middle for a little bit. Thankfully however the story did not stay in that trope for too long so I’m glad I kept listening.

It was nice to not be left hanging about what happened with her dad.

I liked that there was enough plot and character development that the author didn’t need to depend on sex and smut . It’s refreshing that the story can be good enough you don’t need to go there. It had just the right amount of tension without being smutty. That’s not an easy line to walk and I think the author did a good job of it.

Overall, it was worth the time. I’ve only read the first 2 books in the series so far but I’ve liked both of them and would read more by this author.

I liked it but liked the first one a little bit more

It was okay but didn’t hold my interest and moved really slow at some parts. Not like others where I can’t stop listening or rush to get back to listening. Instead, I read four other books while working thru this audio book which tells me I finished only to be finished.

Meh.

I just don’t understand why the boy characters voice was so nasaly and whiny and why the main girl didn’t have a back bone it was really annoying that she wouldn’t tell him what her mother was doing or talk to him about his ex… I’m not even done with the book but I don’t know if I can finish it the first book was good and some aspects are good in this book. The writer is good and is good at giving you the feels but ugh this is killing me.

Bad character voices and female was stupid

great story over all, it kept you going and sighing with every decision the characters make. very happy that I bought the whole series because I am looking forward to how the next set of characters work out

great story over all

While I felt like the story kept on moving, and it held my attention it seems like they were fighting or apart more than they were together. And it was more about the struggle to get together than it was for him not to forget her. But I still enjoyed the book. It was fast paced enough and held your attention enough but just not a five star book.

Seemed like they were a part more than they were together

It’s a decent story, the pace of it definitely didn’t hold me. I found myself kind of listening as background noise for some of it. I wanted more of the Romance component between the two main characters. I feel like I read a book about a fight more than I read a love story.

Not for me but cute

I enjoyed watching Jess and Eliana’s relationship blossom in the first book and come to a sweet ending with a marriage proposal.

Friends to lovers
