Publisher's summary

Kill All Bugs. Bang All Women.

When Mark Ryder's latest mission turns into a bloodbath, he'll find himself alone on the shores of an alien moon hunted by insects the size of skyscrapers.

Now, if he wants to get off this rock alive, he'll have to cut a bloody swathe through the bug queen's elite army, rendezvous with the all-female Artemis squad, and blow the whole thing to Kingdom Come without getting killed.

Warning: This dude has lots of hot sex with multiple women and kicks lots of alien bug ass

hmmmm

Do you fancy a grizzled combat veteran's opinion on literally everything? Every other sentence is deep introspection on every, and any, action taken. a little much.

Literary equivalent of a popcorn flick.

Another great series by Cipriano and Kressley! Doomed Infinity Marine is the literary equivalent of a summer blockbuster popcorn flick. What does that mean? It means don't look for hard science, don't look for a complex plot with lots of subtle subtext. What you see (or in this case what you hear) is what you get. And what do you get exactly? Lots and lots of fast paced over the top action. Doomed Infinity Marine is what you'd get if you merged Starship Troopers with a video game. Seriously the way weapons and upgrading works feels like it could have been pulled straight out of a video game...and I thought it was an absolute blast. The adventure was just flat out fun.

The book is narrated by Neil Hellegers, and while I've listened to his work in the past and have always enjoyed it, this time he really knocked it out of the park. This is definitely my favorite of his works to date. I hope he'll be narrating the sequel.

Pure manly fun

Have you ever been a bada** in your field but were still broke? Well Mark is such a guy. And now he has three strong, smart, tallented, and hot (let's be clear here that them being hot is as important) women separately vying for his attention.

Better then I ever wanted to give it credit for,

This book is WAY better then I ever wanted to give it credit for, and that's not a bad thing! I got this book for that action movie turn your brain off and go for a ride feeling. Its got a Starship Troopers feel to it and it plays that to its advantage. It can get a little introspective with Mark Ryder our MC, but it explains the world in a way I loved because it brought Mark to life for me. With his feelings of the world and the state of everything. Also the Narration by Neil Hellegers is top notch. he can get the gruff veterain, the new "Grass feds", and the women cast a distinctive voice.

To Much!

To much inner monologue. MC just went on about himself, the millitary and all his problems with the world. Every character in every story does this but holy crap this character does more in the first ten chapters than most do in a three book series. this made focusing on the events in the story impossible because you only got a few seconds of an event with every 10 minutes of inner monologue.

Oh Hell yeah!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This is my first book narrated by Neil Hellegers, but he kicked ass. His gravelly voice is perfect for Mark Ryder. That being said, this is one of those books you have to go in with your expectations realistic. This is pretty much what would happen if Ash from Army of Darkness was in Starship Troopers. There is lots of action, sarcasm and sex. If you want a good, action-filled, book with sarcasm and gravitas, this book is for you.

pretty damn good.

Being inside the mind of a man who's seen to much to buy the bullshit is interesting and relatable. The store is pretty good and I hope there are more to follow!

Starship Troopers meets LitRPG

A jaded and grizzled veteran soldier is sent into the heart of the enemy force, to get material that the war machine wants to continue their profiting off the war for the future or humanity. Humanity now entirely lead by corporations make their soldiers pay for their own gear and any top of the line abilities. Mark Rider is sent into a mission that goes sideways and has to try and battle his way out of a moon filled with nothing but aliens looking to kill him.

The narration by Neil Hellegers is entirely enjoyable. His voice for Mark Rider especially is great choice, he has a rough and gravely voice that makes him seem like a tough soldier just off speech. He also does great on the different female voices and aliens he encounters.

Cipriano and Kressley have brought a pessimistic future of humanity into the fold in this book, and it makes you really dislike the commanding forces of Earth. There is a lot of introspection from the main character and it is the main vehicle used to let us know the inner workings of this world. There are a ton of battles with aliens and some fun character interactions thrown in.

I look forward to the future adventures of Mark and the Artemis squad.

This is not "Doomed"

This author has always found the perfect reader for his stories, this is no exception. His voices were right on especially Lt. Ryder.
Lots of action, a witty AI, some female companionship and a new world where The Alliance is in control of fighting really, really big bugs. Glad to see this series continue. It's definitely worth the credit and time.

fun fantasy but not funny

From the editors preview I was expecting a funny parody; This is not it. it is a fun fast paced future fantasy that over all moves along well. Implausible tech and super skilled warriors side with the inept and the down right stupid. Overall, fun.
