Publisher's summary

The best-selling author of Voodoo Dreams focuses on two women who loved the great abolitionist Frederick Douglass. Anna, a free woman of color, was his rescuer, his loving wife and mother to his children. Ottilie Assing, a white German woman, became his intellectual soul mate and mistress. At times, they all lived under the same roof.

Fictional History at its best!

The voices of the actresses only add to the engaging story of history that add depth and understanding to our understanding and voices.

Fredrick Douglas wow

He was a great writer and speaker and extremely talented. But what a disgusting womanizer. I’m glad that woman got hers in the end

Swept Up in the Lives of Two Remarkable Women

The honey drip of "Anna's" voice draws you into her world as if you were watching from inside of her mind. To witness the effect of huge social change in three amazing people in such a personal way is more than engaging to say the least. What we won't endure to be loved!

We wonder if the narrative is factual?

I loved the performance. Will most definitely recommend to others. Anna and Otillia were both heroins. Their stories could be from today... beautiful yet sad.
