About this listen

Xavier's new life at the estate has begun.

His disease is gone, there's more money in his bank than there are cells in his body, and he might even be falling in love. Inspired, Xavier begins to search for answers. Can the Corruption be vanquished? Could the world of Meadow Song be restored?

All the while, the dragonesses are starting to develop their own feelings for Xavier...feelings far deeper than friendship.

Awesome book 2. You do need to have read or listened to book one. I read it and listened to this and both worked perfectly. The Dual narration is great making this a very good slice of life story. The magic is improving without bogging down the story. I can't wait for the next one.

Great Slice of life

Right up front before you read any further just know that I recommend this book to anybody thinking about giving it a shot. When it comes to a sequel, I am personally looking for everything that made the last book worth it and then some. In my opinion that is this book. For anybody who's new to the series this is what I thought about book one, the author, and the narration team.

This is a relatively short novel by an apparently new author. She states in her profile on Amazon, “I love writing harem! My favorite genres are post-apocalyptic, fantasy, slice of life, sci-fi, and dark fantasy.” Book two of this series is already out and available in eBook form, but if you get done with this series and are looking for more from this author than I would recommend her “Desperate Times” series which has the first three books out and available in audio form. Back to this story, our main character is named Xavier and his life is a mess. He appears to have a terminal illness slowly killing him. He works a dead-end construction job where his high school bully is his boss. His medical bills are stacking up and there's a good chance he'll be evicted soon. The other characters in the story of note are 3 lovely dragon ladies who are equally screwed. They are the result of some ancient sorcerer’s alchemy. There are others, but they are monstrous in nature and now threaten the estate and the ladies. The estate is essentially a refuge and they're all reliant on a single bloodline. Our hero’s relative living on the estate has now passed and through the Will, the estate and the money are now his. The author has struck a nice balance in the storytelling. There is what I would consider the normal build up in such a story. There is some light innuendo, kissing, and petting. There is a sex scene and there is a fight scene. I was entertained and I think you'll enjoy the story as well. Moving on to the narration team I thought they executed a good performance. I have come across their work in the past. I enjoyed Renée Nolen's performances in “Dark Lord’s Command” and Trevor Jordan’s performances in “Neuro-Divergence.” Lastly, I'll just say well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us, the Audible listeners.

Update: “Desperate Times” and “Dark Lord’s Command” are now available in audio format as a completed trilogy.

Really like this series, pretty good at setting cliff hangers tho. This is slice of life, so don’t expect high intensity combat throughout.

Definitely a good series

As required by U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations and Audible requirements, I am disclosing that I was given a free review copy of this audiobook at my request. I have listened to the audiobook, and I have voluntarily left an honest review. Receiving a review copy did not influence my rating nor my review.

“Dragon Estate 2” is a very enjoyable, slice-of-life book with great comradeship among the characters. The narration was also enjoyable, especially Renée Nolen’s performances with the female characters.

In book 2, Xavier has adapted to his new life, and the dragonesses are happy that Xavier likes to spend time with them, and not just be a recluse in his room, as other members of his family have done. Spending time with Xavier becomes something of a friendly competition, with each of the girls trying to top each other on what they can do first with Xavier!

While Xavier discovers he has the ability to scry (read ancient texts), and find the locations for the much needed shards of power, most of this book is about the growing bonds between the main characters. The dragon goddess Amora guides Xavier in his dreams, and it’s not until the end of the book that he remembers her and realizes what tasks he must accomplish in Book 3 to reclaim the estate from the corruption and monsters threatening everything.

Dragonesses like to cuddle with humans!

The ending… what happened?! Did she knew about the Goddess? Is Xavier okay? Did he know he’s being in an illusion?!

Xavier and his dragoness trio are back and trying to save their home.
He is continuing to develop his skills, and the girls are super excited to have someone who likes them.
Xavier almost dies, but 6ou need to get the book to find out about it.
I got this book for free with the expectation of an honest review.
I've been waiting for this book for a while and was not disappointed.

Ok, this series is getting quite good in this second installment.

It improves upon the first book by expanding the relationship and conversation aspect between our characters. We also get a few more details about the past and the world, but there are still many things to be uncovered. And it seem we will soon meet our mystery guest quite soon.

We also got to see a bit more intimacy scenes that were quite lovely and hot, a thing which was a bit lacking in the first book.

The narration felt a bit odd in this one, the voices are still good, but Brooke's voice kinda changed from the first book (the rest of the characters felt the same). Found this a bit odd since I just finished reading the first book a couple of days ago.

Overall this book is a big plus from the first one, expanding on the parts it needed to, and I can't wait for the next one to come out.

Great sequel, this is how they should be done
