Story
Once upon a time, in the magical land of San Francisco, there lived a not-so-ordinary girl named Laurel Pettigrew. She was supposed to be the Chosen One. The plan was simple: She would vanquish the great evil Tybus in an epic battle. But destiny had other ideas, and Laurel's performance in the whole heroics department was a colossal flop. Now, instead of being a legendary hero, Laurel's the resident pariah of the magic realm. And what’s worse, the dark wizard Tybus swooped in, took over the realm, and forced all supernatural creatures to live under his tyrannical rule.

Story
For decades, wrestling was shrouded in secrecy. It had larger-than-life personalities, bone-crunching physicality and jaw-dropping theatrics, but backstage, it was an industry devoid of outsiders. Then in 1999, after working together on a special for MTV, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson turned to 26-year-old television writer Brian Gewirtz and asked, “You ever consider writing for WWE?” That question, and its answer, would have a profound effect on both of their lives for years to come. There's Just One Problem is a story about perseverance, tenacity, and steel chairs.

A mesmerizing, behind-the-scenes business thriller that chronicles how Sega, a small, scrappy gaming company led by an unlikely visionary and a team of rebels, took on the juggernaut Nintendo and revolutionized the video-game industry. In 1990, Nintendo had a virtual monopoly on the video-game industry. Sega, on the other hand, was just a faltering arcade company with big aspirations and even bigger personalities. But all that would change with the arrival of Tom Kalinske, a former Mattel executive who knew nothing about video games and everything about fighting uphill battles.

Much has been written about him, but until now we've only had his songs as clues to his experience from the inside. In Scar Tissue, Kiedis proves himself to be as compelling a memoirist as he is a lyricist, giving us a searingly honest account of the life from which his music has evolved.

From mansions to trap houses, office buildings to strip clubs, Atlanta is defined by its rap music. But this flashy and fast-paced world is rarely seen below surface level as a collection not of superheroes and villains, cartoons and caricatures, but of flawed and inspired individuals all trying to get a piece of what everyone else seems to have. In artistic, commercial, and human terms, Atlanta rap represents the most consequential musical ecosystem of this century. Rap Capital tells the dramatic stories of the people who make it tick and the city that made them that way.

Absolutely worth the listen
This book delivered on so many levels. Raheem leaves no stone unturned in recounting his journey from growing up in Philly, to how he became Random and transitioned to Mega Ran.
So many poignant moments, lots of laughs, and a few heart wrenching tales. This man has had a rollercoaster of a life and it was a fun ride to hear.
My favorite parts of the books are when he delves into some of the stories behind the lyrics he wrote for many of his songs. You know of the man, now actually get to know him as he takes you down an unadulterated look into his life. Definitely worth multiple listens!

A Must Read!
Just a couple of years ago I was introduced to Mega Ran and his music by a coworker! I never heard nerd rap before but I instantly adopted it! I got to meet him for the first time and witness his performance! I knew from there he’d have my support! This year I got to meet him again and had a fan moment when he complimented me on my shirt the states “Read!” When purchasing a new shirt from his collection and CD, without a second thought I grabbed his first book! I enjoyed listening to his book and how he narrates! He has brought reality to his journey by sharing personal stories and what he was doing during a few history milestones and injustice events. I can’t for the next book! Thank you so much for this Mr. Jarbo!
