A fun whodunnit!

Short, concise plot and so much fun, Meredith Potts has me totally entertained! This cozy mystery is not long, but Potts has it packed full of interesting, well developed characters, a plot to keep you guessing and a beginning that will make you laugh out loud! Hope starts her day with an unexpected visitor, but that does not keep her from the next murder case. Along with her brother, the two are on the path to find out who killed Benjamin Norton, the man that cleans her pool. With suspects galore, we meet 3 women Benjamin was dating, a husband of one of the women, and the man that was his employee, each with their own story, but which one is the killer? With deductive skill we get to find out the culprit and enjoy this fast paced, well written story.

So many characters and Rachel Carr narrates them each with their own voice! She performs this story exquisitely.

ANother lovely story

Well, first of all, this book has the best opening scene of any of them. I simply loved it, and that's all that I will say to not ruin it for you.

I really liked how comfortable is Hope with her brother now, and how well they work together. And how she doubts of her own perceptions after she made a mistake in her appraise of the people who come to help her with an issue she has at home; it's a great detail that makes Hope even more human.

As always, Rachel Carr does an amazing job in the narration of this story.

Drowning in Deceit Hope Hadley Cozy Mystery Serie

The morning starts with excitement for Hope. She's awakened by the barking of her dog. When she gets downstairs to check it out she finds an alligator trying to get in through the doggie door. After a semi panicked call to her brother, who is shocked speechless, he tells her he'll handle it. After the situation is taken care of, Hope waits for the pool man to come clean her pool. She waits and waits. When he doesn't show, she continues on with her job. Then her brother calls to let her know that there is another murder...her pool man. Now Hope and Joe are on the prowl for the murderer and come across more than they bargained for.
Fantastic audio talents of Rachel Carr as she brings the characters to life.

Hope Hadley #4

This book is a fast read.I have not read this series before and found this book as an easy read. If you are looking for a hard core mystery this book is not for you. But if you are just wanting to relax and read a quick cozy this book fits the bill. Rachael Carr does a good job of narrating this cozy. I was gifted this book with the understanding that I would leave an honest review.

Drowning in Deceit

This series keeps changing things up. Each book in the series is still quite different. I don't think Hope Hadley has quite found her grove yet since leaving Hollywood CA. The opening scene is quite fun when an alligator is trying to come in though the doggie door (who in Florida has a doggie door, for this reason lol). However it seems Hope keeps repeating herself about the alligator wrangles not having anything with them. And she seems to have lost her sense of humor too, especially at the end when her boyfriend bring over a new float for the pool.
The narration is nice, but it did seem to drag on a bit in spots I ended up having to speed this one up so it was not dragging on.

Quick listen, enjoyable story.

Another interesting and quick story by Meredith Potts. This was Hope Hadley's fourth adventure, and I enjoyed it. There was so much funny happening around Hope as well as the death of her pool cleaner. Working with her brother made this an interesting story as they play well off each other. As to the mystery, I was fooled for a while but happy with the outcome. Narrated once again by Rachel Carr who was full of excitement as she told the story.

I received a copy of this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

Drowning in Deceit
Hope Hadley Cozy Mystery Series, Book 4
By: Meredith Potts
Narrated by: Rachel Carr
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
Although this is a short story, it is packed with all the goodness of a novel. Great characters, good plot, clues to die for, ( yep, I went there), and twists.
The narrator is great, she kept things flowing just right!
