Publisher's summary

Colin McCool has outwitted necromancers, sorcerers, fae assassins, and evil demigods...but can this journeyman druid survive a face-to-face fight with a god?

It’s me again - your friendly neighborhood druid, pissing people off everywhere I go in the supernatural world.

After killing a psychotic demigod, I just wanted to retreat to my beloved junkyard in peace. Unfortunately, the Celtic gods are bringing the fight to my doorstep - whether I like it, or not.

Now Austin’s fae queen has banished me from her demesne, forcing me into hiding. To complicate matters, I’ve also been tasked with hunting down an ancient vampire who’s terrorizing the people of New Orleans.

Um, okay boomers - I’m game.

Question is, can I evade the Tuatha Dé Danann, all while bringing a dangerous master vampire to heel? And if worse comes to worst, can I survive a direct confrontation with a god?

Another great Colin McCool tale

Running for your life has never been so entertaining. I enjoy hearing about the lesser known Tuatha Dé Danann. Massey does a great job pulling from the entire pantheon. Narration is mediocre at best. I wish the narrator had more dynamics between character voices. The story is worth the listen!

Outright excellent!

I can't say enough about how much I wish these kinds of books were available to me as a child. between the Colin McCool series and The Iron Druid series, I'm extremely proud of the imagination and thoughtfulness of the authors! Thank Awen that the Colin McCool series continues well past 9 books, though we understand the significance of the 9. This book, while with a briefer runtime, is every bit as well crafted and attention getting as the others in this series. For an old druid like me, who didn't even know that fantasy novels about druids even existed til I was in my late 30's, I can not be more excited to see what's next! Many thanks for the sharing of his craft! And just a note: I realise the book felt short for me, but that's coming from I guy who held his piss from the beginning of the Lord of the Rings when it first came out to theater, all the way to the end and I STILL felt like the movie was too short!

Brilliant

I really enjoy this series. I look forward to reading the next book. Even though I know the outcome. I read the Tricksters series before I read this one.

long awaited but disappointed

As usual this storyline is excellent to follow. The characters are all well maintained throughout the book. The book seemed to rush through certain time frames and be very vague on explanations. While most of the characters are already established prior to this book it seemed not to review their relationship and significance to this book. The issues between him and his girlfriend's dad seemed rushed and not well charted. I look forward to the next book and hopefully it will clear up some of the issues.
