Publisher's summary

The ruin of obsession, the madness of love, and the peril of duty.

Remington Maddox broke my heart.

Simon Perilini bruised my body.

And Pretty Nick Bruin tried his hardest to steal my soul.

As we struggle to make amends, the four of us must face the real fights occurring in Forsyth: the battle against the legacies of our fathers, the conflict for a kingdom that's stronger than its king, and the wars we wage within ourselves.

My dukes have become capable warriors, but Forsyth needs more than their fists. They need a leader. Who will rise to the challenge?

They plucked me from captivity, giving me a home and purpose, and now it's my turn to fight for them. The fury of Forsyth will burn hot enough to melt my cage.

And my dukes will forge a crown from it.

Dukes of Peril is book six in the contemporary dark-romance Royals of Forsyth U series by best-selling authors Angel Lawson and Samantha Rue.

Great Series!

The beginning of each group of this series is always a struggle. The rape and nastiness of these men are always hard to get past. The men always end up treating the women like queens and it makes this series great! Can't wait for the princes books!

The Duke men are better than the Lords (unpopular opinion)

I wanted to get through all three books before writing my review on the Dukes. After reading all the reviews it seems most people think the Dukes are worse than the Lords. I HIGHLY disagree. There are trigger warning all over the place for both groups of men. I never read trigger warnings because I’m really not affected by anything when I read (or so I thought). I learned that as long as there is some redeemable quality about a character, something we can hold on to and root for, it doesn’t matter how bad they are. This series was filled with one man with an insecurity that makes him treat woman poorly. One with an obsession that he believes is love that does horrible things thinking it wasn’t as bad as it was in the name of love. And one with mental issues that doesn’t know what’s real or not. They are redeemable characters in the way that they recognize at some point the horrible things they did and want to fix it for her. This is the reason I think these guys are better. The lords on the other hand did all the horrible things and NEVER took responsibility or cared about the shitty things they did. In fact, they kept doing worse things when they found out from the fmc that they were horrible to her. When they started to change it felt more for selfish reasons then for her. The first 2 books in that series were complete teeth grinding reads. And all I wanted to do was punch them in their faces. So when they started being “better” it just wasn’t believable at all in my opinion. It just didn’t feel like the characters written in the first two lord books would have changed and cared that much for the third book to be believable. I almost didn’t read the dukes when I read all the reviews saying they are worse than the lords. So I just wanted to put it out there that if you highly disliked the character development from the lords give this one a try, you’ll like these men more. As far as narration, I wish it was done in duet style because the female narrator just didn’t sound right doing the male voices. There was more plot in the lords series which made me give that series 4 stars. This series plot gets a little boring but overall I enjoyed it. Going to start the princess soon.

Amazingly Filthy

I absolutely love this series, but you’re a pearl clutching purest, these books are not for you. Every book is off the charts filthy and spicy, but still have a great story plot and characters.

Fantastic Series

I absolutely love this series. Rating it 4/5 because I love the Lords series a little more. Butttt I love the darker aspects within this series. Disclaimer first time using audible so I’m sure it’s just standard, but I couldn’t get over the dialogue. 😆 If you have multiple characters and have voices for them please use them when talking to each other. When the guys are attempting to use a “female voice” for Vinny😂😂 bro just use the girl who’s narrating for Vinny’s POV.

Amazing!

This entire series is exceptional. The way characters are so thought out and interwoven. This book was one of my favorites thus far - tied up a lot of loose ends and had more spice than the previous 2 of the dukes books. I’m so excited to start on the princes next! 5/5 stars all the way around!

Amazing writing!

The creativity it took to write such complex characters with such precision and eloquence is beyond my comprehension. I loved every minute of this book as well as the Lords books. I fell in love with each character in spite of the all their despicable actions. The interwoven layers of the world they live in along with the twisted rules and customs caused their behaviors to make sense. A little bit of angst, lots of twisted romance, plenty of steam and intriguing plot make this a must read!

This whole series has been amazing. Trigger warnings though not for the faint of heart. These women are tough and need to be.

BOOM, Mike drop. A solid 4.5 stars easy!

Yes, this ends on a major mike drop for sure! It took me a minute to get going on this book even though it picked up right where the last book left off. It’d been so long that I had to reread the previous book to figure out what was going on again so it set me back even further as both novels are juggernauts! Lol
These guys are 💯 fighters, through and through. Not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well. Lavinia has been fighting her whole life, just like the Dukes. There is no stronger force in Forsyth then this house of Dukes. Even though she is from Northsode and a Countess by birth, she was always meant to be a Duchess, a Queen. After she works out her differences with her men and they grow to trust each other, this team becomes unstoppable. It’s scary what they can get done once you realize they are more than just fists…that they are savvy and sharp too.
Rent was vindicated and oh so right about oh so much. He was not crazy and so much was revealed. He’d really hurt “Vinny” at the end of last book and I wanted to throat punch him like no other! He earned his right back to be by his Duchess’s side in the sweetest most Remy way in the end. He realized how much she grounds him and bound himself to her for all time.
At has been “Lavinia’s” quiet rock and safe place from the beginning. Not someone you would think to go to for comfort and cuddles but he is exactly that for his Queen…which makes his betrayal burn all the much more. He hurt her in several different ways, not just emotionally (not saying that’s not bad enough but still)! He is so crushed by what he did that he flees the belfry in shame and defeat. He does leave his journey for Lavinia to hopefully help toward apology. He too makes his way back to her in a very meaningful authentic way that touched my heart.
Then there is Nick. He finally redeems himself and I truly felt him unredeemable at first. I thought there was no way for him to come back from what he did but our authors weaved his tale is such a way that yeah, he paid for his sins and is now worthy of his Queen. His “Little Bird” has been his obsession for over 2yrs now and he continued to be unapologetically creepy, possessive and overbearing where Lavinia was concerned. These 2 are my favorite pairing of the crew as it’s so hot and raw and all consuming Nicks love. It’s the kind that will burn down worlds for your girl and give no F’s while he watches it disintegrate to nothing. He will literally do ANYTHING for her and proves it in this book. I ligit almost cried when they were in the crypt. Nick is my (Anti) hero of hero’s. I want one of those when I grow up please!!
I also listened while driving too and the narrators went both ways. Loved one as he is already a favorite of mine: Troy Duran and I’m still not comfortable with Lula Larkin, she talks like every word is a question and on a gasp. That’s hard to listen to.
All in all, a great installment. I’m glad the next book comes out this month so I don’t lose the story. I’m excited to hear about the Princes and their secrets. Sounds like there is more to them then meets the eye and that their is yet another dirty old King after the young sweet women of his boys…stay tuned.
