About this listen

From the author of The Five Year Lie comes a new twisty thriller that probes how well we actually know the men in our lives.

Rowan Gallagher is a devoted single mother and a talented architect with a high-profile commission restoring an historic mansion for the most powerful family in Maine. But inside, she’s a mess. She knows that stalking her ex’s avatar all over Portland on her phone isn't the healthiest way to heal from their breakup. But she’s out of ice cream and she's sick of romcoms.

Watching his every move is both fascinating and infuriating. He's dining out while she's wallowing on the couch. The last straw comes when he parks in their favorite spot on the waterfront. In a weak moment, she leashes the dog and sets off to see who else is in his car.

Instead of catching her ex in a kiss, Rowan becomes the first witness to his murder—and the primary suspect.

But Rowan isn’t the only one keeping secrets. As she digs for the truth, she discovers the dead man was stalking her too, gathering intimate details about her job and her past.

Struggling to clear her name, Rowan finds herself spiraling into the shadowy plot that killed him.

Will she be the next to die?

I think I have read or listened to all of Sarina Bowen’s previous books. This book, and the Five Year Lie, have gone in a different direction, but she has nailed it with both of them! I highly recommend this book!

Another Great One

I think this is a great story in and of itself, and the audiobook makes the experience even better. There are three different POV and three different narrators, and all three deliver excellent performances. It starts with a good premise, and the way the story woven and how the three POV are intertwined highlights how talented Sarina Bowen is at storytelling.

I loved how layered and complex it is but also pretty straightforward. It’s one of my favorite books of the year, and I really hope Sarina Bowen keeps writing thrillers because she’s only getting better at it. I highly recommend it.

So Good!

Sarina Bowen has been one of my favorite romance authors for a long-time, and I loved her 2024 foray into the thriller genre, Five Year Lie, so I was really excited to dive into her newest thriller. I really enjoyed Dying to Meet You and found myself disappointed each time I had to put it down and do life. The twists and turns were unexpected and I truly wasn't sure how it would end. Having a teenage daughter myself, I found Rowan's relationship with her daughter Natalie to be authentic and genuine. I found the slow burn pace to work really well in this case as it gave time to get to know the characters and for the secrets to be revealed in quite a satisfying way. I was familiar with narrator Caitlin Kelly and always enjoy her performances. Kathleen Early and Sarah Mollo-Christensen were new to me and both fantastic.

Really good!

Ok so this is the kind of book that got me hooked on audiobooks years ago. I could not be happier to listen to this audio over and over again. The storyline is unique, believable, and pulls you in each and every minute. Sarina Bowen knocked it out oddly the park and the narrators were a perfect trio.

10-10 hands down the best of the best

Dying to Meet You is a solid domestic thriller about the misdeeds of a wealthy and very prominent family in Portland, Maine. The secrets that are surrounding Rowan is dizzying, and leads to her and her ex being the main suspects in the murder of her ex-boyfriend. The relationship with her daughter, Natalie, felt authentic. The question of what happened to all the “adopted” children and how it swept Rowan up and how it related to the initial murder in the beginning was fantastic. There were a lot of twists and turns with well written, dynamic characters that added to an already well crafted plot. The setting was equal parts majestic and eerie. The ending was just as satisfying as the beginning. There was no lull in the story. The emotions of the characters brought a palpable tension that persisted from the inciting incident to the climax. The multiple POVs were done perfectly. If you like thrillers and/or romantic suspense, Dying to Meet You is a must read!

Dirty old men… Can someone please explain the last chapter (Coralee) to me? Is she someone else or was it on the past?

I almost didn’t get this title because it didn’t include that it’s a romance.
Great mystery & narration.
But also a great romance!

Don’t worry.

I love a good murder mystery! My first Sarina Bowen book was The Five Year Lie. I loved both books. I like seeing it from different perspectives and the past meeting up with the present at the end! Now I have to re-listen to see what clues I missed.

Great Story

I read and loved her other thriller last year so I was excited to listen to this one. I loved it just as much! I love that there’s a little romance but it’s def a thriller. The narrator was great (other than how she says law-yer) I was surprised by the twists, loved the ending! It was a great read!

Loved!

Narrator did not build anticipation in parts where genuine fear could be realized by characters
