About this listen

Eddie and Andrew have dynamite chemistry. But Eddie is profoundly dyslexic, and Andrew lives to read. Andrew is pathologically disorganized, and Eddie likes things neat and clutter-free. Andrew is desperately ashamed of his hoarder father, and Eddie is embarrassed by his lack of education - secrets that could pull them apart even as a friend's tragedy brings them together. When Andrew's father's condition deteriorates and he nearly dies because of his compulsion, Eddie and Andrew must learn compassion begins with loving oneself because Grime Doesn't Pay.

Real People, Real Problems, Real Love

Even better than the first Grime Brothers book. I'm rather excited to see what happens next, but I hope to hear more about Uncle Chacha and his teacher in the future. The narrator did the voices true justice and the story makes you want to meet the characters.

Sweet story with some steam.

this story was relatable over coming obstacles such as dyslexia, hoarding and insecurities with on a self. the story between Gabe and Andrew was sweet with some steam thrown in between. I always enjoy Joe Arden and this was the second book I've read/listened to from this author and I enjoyed it just as much as the first.

Cha Cha Eddie

The Story: 4 Pants Off

I love ZAMs books so much and this one was a great addition to The Brothers Grime series. Eddie has the hots for his nieces teacher Andrew and luckily the teacher has the hots for Eddie.

They begin a tentative relationship that turned out to be hot as fire which surprised the ever loving eff out of me.

While Eddie does do crime scene cleanups this delved away from that and moved into the cleaning up of someone who hoards who happens to be Andrews father. That brings up a whole lot of issues and the men have to try and restore and already fragile bond.

Also, they were hot fire together.

Downside, I wanted more gore and crime scene cleanup. I love that ish!!

The Narration: 4 Pants Off

I loved what Joe Arden did here with Eddie. I swear I lived for that voice the whole time I was listening. It had that nice Latino accent but it wasn’t overdone just smooth and it left me in a puddle. This might be my fave Joe Arden Narration.

Definitely would listen again!

What about Gabe?

As Jack and Eddie find their way through life, we cheer them on as one is disabled and another is dyslexia find the love they both need to continue life. The third book Gabe is missing from the trio.

Love this narrator! Love the Grime Bros books.

He’s not my favorite voice. His recording isn’t perfect. But he just gets it. That makes all the difference in an audiobook! He gets the emotions. He delivers the lines with the right tone - the humor, and the conflict, and the darker stuff.

I thoroughly enjoyed the combination of writing by Z. A. Maxfield and narration by Joe Arden. The Brothers Grime books are some of my favorites. Over 1000 titles in my library and I can count on fingers and toes the number I’ve listened to more than once. Jack and Eddie are on that short list.

Why, oh why is Gabe’s story not available on audible?! Please, hire Joe to record that one and make it available to us too.

I really am fond of this world and these characters. They are done so well. Touchy subjects handled with grace and understanding. Really very nice.

The St Nachos series is also a good one, but this narration is far superior.

Good Read

This is the first book I read/listen from ZAM. I enjoyed the story and liked a lot all of the characters. The narrator did a good job, however at times it was difficult knowing which character was speaking. Overall it was a good book.
