About this listen

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author, Catherine Coulter, comes Eleventh Hour. The murder of a priest leads FBI agents Sherlock and Savich to their most baffling case yet, in this riveting novel of suspense.

Catherine Coulter won acclaim for her "fast-paced twists and turns, believable dialogue, and case of well-developed characters" (San Francisco Chronicle). Now Coulter delivers the suspense thriller of her career in Eleventh Hour.

When FBI agent Dane Carver's twin brother, Father Michael Joseph, is brutally murdered in his San Francisco church, husband-and-wife agents Lacey Sherlock and Dillon Savich take a personal interest in the investigation. Then Nicola "Nick" Jones, a homeless woman and the only witness to the shooting, is scared out of her mind because she's trying to hide from her own monsters - who are drawing closer and closer.

The chase goes from San Francisco to the Premiere Studios in Los Angeles and its new television hit, a show all about murder.

Packed with surprises, Eleventh Hour finds Catherine Coulter at her quintessential best.

Critic reviews

"Politics, both the Hollywood and Washington varieties, drives the seventh in a series of Coulter's fast-paced, romantic thrillers....Coulter gets better and more cinematic with each of her suspenseful FBI adventures." ( Booklist)

Not sure about any future purchase of this author

This is the first book that I've read by this author. I'm not sure, and probably won't, take a chance on another book by this author. First, the most offensive thing was the sporadic using the name of Jesus as curse word. FWIW, I can take occasional F bombs better than I can take the unneeded use of Jesus's name as a curse word. Authors have future customers to loose, and nothing to gain by offending people. No other cursing in the book. All up until the last part of the book, there was no porn. Then, out of the blue, a porn scene was thrown in. It was thrown in like the author needed to throw it in somewhere. Worse, up until that point, the two people involved, didn't have any relationship other than a platonic one. I don't know if this was abnormal for this writer or not, being it was the first book I've gotten by this author.

That said, the mystery was one that kept me listening, without falling asleep, and I didn't know the bad guy until the end. My only other gripe is that in order to make the story work, the author made out like the FBI were stupid where common sense decisions were not made. For example, police are guarding a man in a nursing home that has a sliding door to the outside, and it doesn't occur to them to bother guarding the door straight to the outside.... they just sit around inside the nursing home. A number of little stupid things that truly do make them sound like the Keystone cops.

Worth Buying

I have to say, I have read so much stuff that I have become very particular about what I am listening to. This book was better than the norm and even kept me awake while I had it on at night. I think that's a good thing. Easy listening, hard to stop at night when you are ready to sleep. So I give it a hand's up. That's a four star in my book.

Great story! so well done

it could've left the language out and the sex scene to reader's imagination. wasn't needed!

can't wait to see if Saune and Dillon share ESP co

ESP connection. STory's with shared audio readers are better understood for character ownership, less confusion

Eleventh Hour

This was a second round on this book for me, this time in audio and it was just as good or better this time. So many riddles and twists and turns and still I was questioning who was the culprit all the way to the end. Love this series and each book is different and thrilling!

Good. Not my favorite

Another good book by Catherine Coulter. Not my favorite though. A couple times found my mind drifting, just didn’t captivate my attention like the other books have. But it would pick back up. Overall a good (but not great) story.

I loved the story but not the narrator

As usual, Catherine Coulter has spun a great tale. The usual, predictable romance is obvious from the beginning but does not detract from the storyline. Unfortunately, what did distract me was the voice of the narrator. Her choice of tone for Dane Carver was grating and annoying. With so many male characters I think a male narrator might have been more suitable.
