Benjamin has discovered the ancient relic that is his dark lord's tower.
Inside are many rooms with all he requires to rebuild his empire. He has found four wives to live within them, but he'll need many more if he wants to fill it with his offspring. To make matters more complicated, more towers like his own have sprung up in the north. The question of who controls them is one he will have to discover before too long...and there are two prisoners within his dungeon cells that have vital information.
The question remains: can he give into his darker nature in order to extract this information? The Forgotten Ruler of old would have no objections to using the most effective means of interrogation. If Benjamin wants to step into his new role and become the Forgotten Ruler in truth, he will have to lay aside the moralities of modern Earth and embrace this new world.

The author did make some bad choices in the writing that I wanted to point out. The love interest characters felt a bit thin aside from the main interest who got the MC started on this whole adventure. At first I thought I just wasn't paying attention but near the end I genuinely couldn't remember who was who. The timing of the ending was also a huge letdown for me. There was a clear end point just over halfway through the book with an epic battle and conclusion but ending it there would have made it criminally short, so the author tacked on what was likely the start to the third book and ends it abruptly just as a large event is about to take place. Books that end in this way feel like they are just one long story cut into pieces to sell more copies which leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth. It doesn't matter if they had a valid reason to do so, you are left feeling cheated.
In the end, the story is a fun romp with a few flaws that has a bad ending. I'll likely continue the story but I wouldn't suggest the series to any fans of the genre unless they're already invested.
Great story ruined by an abrupt ending
