A Curse!!

This short story is a wonderful story although it is short with a cliffhanger. Author Kristen Middleton has written a fantastic story. I loved the storyline and the characters very much. The story is fast paced and even fun at times. Kendra and Kala are twin sisters but are very much different in many ways. Kendra struggles alot, feeling like she doesn't belong, she thinks she's not pretty, and she believes she has issues with her weight. But, when Kendra meets Tyler, the new boy at school he shows her attention and he seems to genuinely like her. Her twin Kala seems to have it all, friends, she's pretty, and everyone likes her. The more time Kendra and Tyler spend together the more she earns about herself. Kendra grows in this story from what seems like a young girl to a more stronger, confident young lady. During the time that Tyler spends with Kendra he let's her in on a secret that turns her life upside down. Kendra and Kala are both witches and not only are they witches but their mom is a witch also. What they didn't know is their mom is a witch to, and not only is she a witch but she has a twin sister as well and their mom has a curse that's been placed on her. It's up to Kendra and Kala to break this curse. Their aunt Viviane practices black magic and believes if her twin sister were to die that she'll gain her power as well. The girl's mom has never practiced black magic, she only uses white magic, good magic and has never even used her magic around the girl's. Kristen has written an amazing story, I found it very etertaining, and funny at times. It's tense, especially the last half of the story. The story is filled with suspense, emotion, and intrigue.

Narrator, Elizabeth Meadows does a great job with her narration of this story. I thought she did a superb job with her performance. I felt her connection with the characters and it helped me bond with them. I found it easy to identify with all the characters from the different accents that Meadows gives them. This story is worth your time and you should get this audio now. You have nothing to lose but a great story to gain. I have no doubt that you'll love it as much as I have.

Want more! Want more!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would, there is a great plot, and I love the narrator.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Enchanted Secrets?

I loved it from start to finish

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I carried my ipod around with me all day until it was all done.,

Any additional comments?

I have listened to books from Elizabeth Meadows from a year ago, all the way up to today, and with each book she has gotten better. I read a blog from her once, and she only started narrating for some extra cash, and loved it so much she made a career out of it. Everyone is so hard on her, but she started with a headset and graduated by putting all the money she earned back into her career on equipment. Before bashing her, maybe do some more research. I like the underdogs, and Elizabeth Meadows is now my favorite narrator because of reading and understanding her background.

Family secrets

High school twins learn they come from generations of witches, although their mother kept it a secret. As if high school wasn't hard enough, one twin is slender and popular while the other twin weighs more and is self conscious about her appearance. Everything changes when a magic potion causes the one to lose weight and look just like her twin. Magic becomes part of their loved and everything changes. Ends in cliffhanger.

Enjoyable story

This book was a bit too sweet for my taste. It has a good story, but every time it seemed as if things were going to get more exciting,. I felt let down.

A fun YA book about teens and witches

Enchanted Secrets is a fun YA book about a high school girl who gets involved with witches and magic. I was happy to see a book with an overweight heroine, so I was a little disappointed when she took magic diet pill instead of learning to be comfortable with her weight. Still it’s a good story that should appeal to young readers. This is the first book in a trilogy, and the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger.

The narrator speaks clearly, but she is a bit monotonous and her character voices are lacking. Sometimes it’s hard to know who’s talking because everyone sounds the same.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Not a terrible story but a terrible narrator

Would you try another book from Kristen Middleton and/or Elizabeth Meadows?

Kristen yes. The writing was not half bad and reminded me of some of the books I used to read when I was younger.
Elizabeth no. It was very stop and go and not smooth at all. Part of the issue is probably the uneven writing flow, but she also takes breaths and pauses in some very awkward places.
