Another winner

Kennedy Layne has crafted another great installment in the Paramour Bay Cozy Paranormal Mystery Series. It has all the zany characters of previous installments. I highly recommend this audiobook.

Who or what is Ted

Ted a lovable character in this book. His introduction to us was quit creepy. I have grown to just love his short answers and the mystery of his trips to town. I’m left wondering who he has a crush on; Molly or a mannequin?

Looking forward to more

Not sure why but there are at least four books that are not on audio, so I’m looking for more in the future. This was really a fun read

this is a great series with lots of twists.

I really have enjoyed this series and am hoping things how well for not only the main character but also her best frend. it seems like there are more family secrets that Raven has to uncover. can't wait for the next book to be released to listen to.

Good cozy mystery

Great cozy mystery. Both the author and the narrator kept me invested from the first chapter. With a number of twists and turns and a result I didn’t see coming, I was hooked. Cannot wait to read and or listen to more from this author.

Another great quick mystery!

These are fun mystical mysteries! They're a quick listen & don't need to be listened to in any specific order. The author gives a good recap on anything from previous books.
Yes, this did build upon books 1 & 2 and it mentions a few things that occurred in each book. But it also went over everything it mentioned in enough depth that I really don't see a need to enjoy this series in order.
I also have to laugh out loud when the author has the narrator talk about narrating the story to the reader/listener. It's a fun way to draw the reader in even more!
Off to the next in the series...

Family History and Fourth Wall Breaks

In this third installment we return to more hilarious interactions between Raven Marigold, her friend Heidi, mother, her familiar Leo (with his ongoing memory issues), Ted her inherited house help, and all the rest of the town. These stories are wonderful easy to listen to with lots of engaging magical exploration. We find Raven wanting to clear her family name by solving a cold case involving her grandmother 53 years ago. There are fun twists and turns with nothing too complicated. There are ongoing fun flirtations with the Sheriff with enjoyable development of his character. Some might get annoyed by more fourth wall breaks in the story, more than in the past, and now include Leo the cat talking directly to the audience as well as Raven. At times it was distracting as it is not consistent but nothing that ruined the story for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the ongoing development with Heidi becoming a mainstay in the stories and is written incredibly well. The listener is so clearly able to see the scenes and laugh at the silliness that ensues. I also really appreciated the use of the mystery being something that develops the entire family history and builds character depth instead of something the protagonist merely solves. I will say I am saddened by the lack of availability of further audibles in this series. I am writing this review December 2020, currently only these three volumes are available despite the fact that there are 15 books in the series with volume 16 due out January 2021. I would love to continue to listen but will likely switch to kindle or book form as I am eager to move forward in the story and see what adventures lay ahead. The narration by Hollie is pretty good, her voice for Heidi is not consistent and it does get confusing that she uses the same male voice for the Sheriff Liam and the other officer Jack which is not easy since there are many double date scenes where the voices all blend. But overall a delightful edition and a series I recommend for those that like paranormal cozy mysteries.
