Excellent and profoundly encouraging

At first I was dismayed at the slow cadence of the narrator, but, imagining an elderly author recounting her experiences, feel that it added to the quality of the recording, giving it the autobiographical feel.

The story was gripping and very well written.

Inspiring

I read this book years ago and the stories and hardships and scriptures stuck with me. The story about the bananas has always been one of my favorite stories on God's abundant provision. I highly recommend this true story of the hardships of war and the concentration camps in WW II.

amazing story of adventure, risk, and love

What a reminder of God's love and how He is more than enough in the worst of situations. It gives me hope and reminds me that my purpose is to serve and not for self gain. I pray that Darlene's service and passion for God will be reflected in all our lives from the mundane, to the world of finance, to the craziness of startups, to home life and friends. She was an adventurer, minister, and loving presence.

Brought to tears throughout this precious book!

What a blessing! Darlene’s autobiography is such an immense encouragement on how to view suffering and hardship rightly. I am so encouraged to see how God mightily worked through her and know that I too have the same Spirit of God in me! What a great encouragement! Over and over my heart was brought to praising God for His work and loving kindness. What a great God we know!
