About this listen

A dark and humorous, albeit, twisted story of two opposites on their sixth anniversary. They should never have married.

Violet is submersed in fantasy and denial. She is blindly in love with Gideon who cannot bear to breathe in the same room with her. She manages her day in the ignorance of bliss, an element of the marriage that only she knows.

Gideon is in torment every moment of each passing day. He finally realizes that it must end if he is to be free to search for his own happiness. What will he do?

Ending in V

The author uses a bit of humor in the dialogue, though it is not a humorous tale. It is sad, dark and with a twist ending!

Definitely an interesting story...

This is definitely an interesting short story...never a dull moment. It's an odd little story and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to like either of the characters (spoiler alert: there are no likable characters in this story). Personally, I don't need to like any characters in a story I'm reading - I just need to find them interesting. In Ending in V it did seem as though the reader was meant to choose a character to champion since it read like a battle scene. It was hard to cheer on the husband because there wasn't enough backstory to help me understand why he loathed his wife so much. Oddly, they seemed like an elderly couple yet they'd only been married for six years? And he hates her that much after only six years? It was certainly hard to root for the wife who was so dense she almost seemed uni-dimensional. In the end, I found the story to be amusing and worth a chuckle but I would have liked to have heard more...I think this writer could churn out more interesting stuff pretty easily, he's got a decent style, particularly with regard to flow. The reader did a nice job and I definitely felt as if I was back in NYC whilst listening to his thick accent. I suppose that's why I assumed this was an elderly couple...they sounded just like a set of grandparents out in Flatbush waiting for their grand kids to arrive for a visit. If you're looking for an interesting way to spend 12 minutes you should check out Ending in V! Thank you to the author, narrator, and Audio Book Boom for a complimentary copy of this story for which I am happy to provide my fair and unbiased review.

Just Okay

I found this short story just okay. Some of it was funny however it just seemed mostly silly to me and the ending was anything but funny. I found the female voice a bit too irritating to enjoy and was glad it was as short as it was. All in all it was just okay for me. I received a free copy of this audiobook and am providing an unbiased review.

Humorous Dialogue With A Twisted Ending

Any additional comments?

A very short read that kept my attention throughout.

I thought the dialogue between characters was very good and funny up until the ending. The ending was fast and rough - a total shift in tone that shook the fun from me.

The narrator, Peter Lerman, does an awesome job voicing the characters. They were very funny and he brought them to life.

Denial til the end

A short story of an anniversary that comes to a simmer then to a boil. I found it a bit too cynical, even for me, but I can't deny that it kept my attention.

The narration was a lot of fun. It really captured her giddiness and his dripping contempt.
