Publisher's summary

An Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestseller.

Love is worth a fortune in this sizzling novel of accidental romance and riches by New York Times bestselling author J.S. Scott.

Wildlife conservationist Jade Sinclair isn’t used to having money. But when she and her siblings learned they were part of the mega-rich Sinclair dynasty, they became billionaires overnight. Jade doesn’t even know how to act rich, especially when she’s dealing with an arrogant, privileged, unreasonably sexy snob like Eli Stone.

Unlike Jade, Eli grew up rich, and he just keeps getting richer. Eli is always looking for an adventure, and he’s found an inviting one in Jade - as resistant as she is irresistible. His less-than-honorable plan? Get her alone in the wilderness by buying out all the spots in her survival class.

Calling a truce, they strike a bargain: Jade will teach Eli basic survival skills, and he’ll teach her how to navigate the world of the wealthy elite. Jade has only one condition - she will not let herself be seduced by him. But some things are easier said than done...

Male voice

My only review is I would have hoped for a male voice for the male lead.

I really enjoyed this book!

J.S. Scott has this incredible ability to just draw me into her stories from the very first word and make me never want to leave. Her writing is effortless and flows so beautifully that it’s an absolute pleasure to read her books. I absolutely adored Jade and Eli together. Between these two, it was fireworks and outta this world chemistry! Overall rating : 4.5 stars!

Fantastic story

The story never slowed, it was a constant enjoyment. Jade & Eli had lots of depth to their characters, they were very likable. This side of the Sinclair family is going to be just as amazing to listen to as the first series. Great narration by Elizabeth Powers.

Good Story but...

3.5 Stars for me!

My rating range of this story... 2.5 - 4 Stars
If significant, why? The constant focus on money in the first half of the story.

Main Character Ratings...
H = 7/10
h = 6/10

Narrator Rating(s)
M = n/a
F = 7/10
If below 5/10,why?

Was cheating involved? No
Any major triggers to be aware of?

Scenes with heat... Yes
What point does it start? 50%
How much of the story? 5%
Anything beyond M/F? No
If yes, explained

Heat Rating... 7/10
Clean or Fade to Black - 1 or 2
Normal to Descriptive 3-5
Detailed Descriptive Sex - 6-7
Um, Wow, Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above

Was there so much sex or unrealistic sex that you rolled your eyes and/or skipped forward? No

The back story... The H has recently become a Billionaire and runs a commercial property company. The h, trying to buy a piece of land so she can protect it, approaches the H to buy it. He said no but was intrigued by her.

The Romance... The H slowly works his way into the h's life and they fall for each other.

The drama explosion... The H pushed the h away
Did it feel Real, OK or contrived? Contrived
Was it OTT? Yes
Separation involved? Very slight
Was it resolved properly or rushed? Ok

Final Notes... Dear JS Scott, the first 10 chapters were brutally awful due to the constant repetitive dialog about money and the overwhelming environmental preaching. We definitely get it... We need to preserve environmental areas for animals to avoid killing off species.

Other than that and some of the OTT scenes, I definitely enjoy the storyline continuation from the previous series.

Don't Give Up, Keep Going

I enjoy J.S. Scott novels but this one almost lost me. Eli and Jade end up being a really great couple and meant to be but the first nine chapters had me wanting to return the audiobook. Jade Sinclair has recently discovered that she is part of the billionaire Sinclair family and is now a billionaire herself after a really hard-knock life with her twin sister and brothers. For the first nine chapters she whines incessantly about having too much money and not knowing what to do with it. Eli Stone is a playboy billionaire who upon learning about her has become obsessed with her and wants to fuck her out of his system, his words not mine. So essentially she's somewhat of a whiney princess and he's a complete jerk. He agrees to teach her how to be rich in ten days and convince her to sleep with him and she agrees to the deal because she's at a loss as how to be rich and is hot for him but doesn't want to be a one night stand. In those nine chapters, you also learn Jade is incredibly smart and wants to save animals and the ecosystem they inhabit. You also learn Eli is compassionate, has reasons for his jerkish behavior and there might be more to him than meets the eye.

The narration by Elizabeth Powers is also outstanding. I do love the fact she is a narrator that doesn't have to change to a male voice to make the listener believe in the male character. It's her tone and as the reader I get it and never get lost as to which character is speaking.

All in all there's no outside drama to keep these two apart it’s all manufactured by themselves and it is worth the purchase to go along with them in the journey to discover who they are and how they end up at their HEA. You also get a peek at the next book and the drama, internally and externally, that might keep the next accidental billionaire Sinclair from his HEA.

Love Jade and Eli

Holy Hotness!! Jade is all about nature and trying to find ways to help the wild life and Eli is a little crazy and adventurous but together they are explosive. This couple burn up the pages and leave you wanting their story to keep going. This is the first book in a new series and we get a little bit of a peak into the next book so the ride is only beginning. Great Story

All the adverbs all the time

I like JS Scott. I do. I think there's redundancy amongst the billionaire storylines but that's ok. While there is nothing wrong with the narration of these audio books per se, I find myself preferring to read them. And would you like to know why? Of course you do, that is why you are reading this review! It is Ms Scott's love affair with the suffix -ly. A strong verb doesn't require an adverb and any decent editor should remove them. I'd think it wouldn't occur at Scott's level of writing and I find the recurring sound distracting. To quote Stephen King: "I believe the road to h*ll is paved with adverbs"
