About this listen

Navy SEAL Jason Kealoha comes to Sunset Beach to release the ashes of his SEAL brother, who was killed in an attack in Nigeria. A Pacific Islander by lineage, Jason is unfamiliar with the Gulf Coast shores his buddy grew up playing in as a child. He befriends a beauty one night at sunset, as she roams the surf, skipping shells, lost in her own world.

Kiley Worthington is on the run from a sex-trafficking cartel she stumbled upon as an investigative reporter in Portland. She decides hiding out in her sleepy beach hometown in Florida makes sense until she can figure out where she can spend the rest of her life in safety. The one-night stand was nice, but the last thing she needs is a huge, tatted, overly protective guy who won’t leave her alone. His attitude is all hard-boiled, but his lips are warm and seductive. If she’s not careful, she may never escape.

But Jason turns out to be the right kind of wrong for Kiley, as her enemies find her. In Jason’s arms she finds a true sanctuary, as well as a safe place to hide forever among the white sand beaches and golden sunsets of the Florida coastline.

this book makes me want to go to Hawaii!

This book was absolutely fantastic and I can honestly say i wanted to cry at the beginning of the book when Jason was at the ocean with His Seal Team brothers ashes it just destroyed me. Kylie is a newspaper reporter and working on a story that could get her kidnapped or even killed but she meets Jason on the beach and they hit it off but when he has to go how is going to be able to keep her safe? I absolutely fell inlove with them and JD Hart is absolutely a fantastic narrator. I love audiobooks and this is absolutely one of my favorite books.

So many Heroes!

Another great story by Sharon Hamilton!
Jason Kealoha is a Navy SEAL on a mission to bring his fallen brother in arms back to Sunset Beach to scatter his ashes. While there he notices a young woman huddled on the beach. When she notices him she runs. Her name is Kiley Worthington, a reporter on the run. She was working on a story for her newspaper in Portland about sex trafficking, and started getting threats. She left and went into hiding on Sunset Beach. Jason finally convinces Kiley that he is not a threat to her. They are drawn to each other and Kiley shares her story with Jason. He’s alarmed but can’t get directly involved because of his job. His is called away in a mission but makes Kiley promise that she won’t do anything while he’s gone. Ironically, the mission he’s in involves human trafficking too. While Jason is gone Kiley gets a phone call that things have fallen apart, and her friend whose helping her on the story is missing! She decided she needed to go find out what is happening despite promising not to! Thing did not go well! This is a book you must read! It’s suspenseful, it will make you angry. Best of all you get to meet some old friends. Although Jason is not happy with Kiley for going off on her own, they are wonderful together. Don’t miss this one it’s a great listen.

Escape to Sunset - Jason and Kiley

What a fantastic addition to the Sunset SEALs series. A chance meeting between Jason and Kiley leads to so much more. They each have commitments they have made (to their jobs) which could tear them apart.

Sharon Hamilton has once again done a fantastic job with the story. I loved getting caught up with characters from the prior books in the series while still getting to know the new ones. Great action as they all work to save the day.

Once again, JD Hart does an admirable job with the narration. In my opinion, he has the perfect voice for a Navy Seal.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Jason and Kylie - Perfection

This fourth installment in the Sunset Seals books is my favorite book of the series! What can I say?! Escape to Sunset is a well written, exciting book that has Seals, bad guys (both foreign and domestic) and tons of action on top of a love story. Jason comes to Sunset Beach Florida to honor a promise to his Seal ‘brother’ and release his ashes. He runs into Kiley, an investigative reporter from Portland who is on the run from a sex trafficking ring she was reporting on. Jason’s protective impulses kick in with the frightened Kiley. But, how can he protect her when he is deployed? Who could resist!?!

J.D. Hart’s narration of this wonderful story is stellar! His voice is smooth like a great whisky. I could listen to him all day long! Absolute perfection!

Truly Heartwarming!

I liked this story, an enjoyed the couple meeting and the story of how their love developed. Overall, it was just as good of a story as all Ms. Hamilton's SEAL boos. I always enjoy a good takedown of human traffickers. My only complaint with this story was it kind of dragged on in the middle, and the ending was so abrupt it was a bit confusing. I would have loved more about the rescue and the takedown of the traffickers, and a bit of the aftermath. However, it just ended. A quick I love you at the end and that was it!

Excellent read

This as such a great story. It deals with something that plagues this country and makes you believe that our commoners a special forces team for inside our country to deal with all the corruption in government. That said I admire Sharon Hamilton for writing stories that keep us entertained.

A good addition to the series

It's worth getting this book for the narrator alone! JD Hart, who is becoming a favorite of mine, nailed the varied accents. His rich, smooth voice is perfect for these Seal books, it was easy to differentiate between all the characters.

I like to read Sharon Hamilton's books for a break from rom-coms and historicals, since her books can be counted on for having a nice blend of romance and action.

Escape to Sunset is no exception, although it has a bigger emphasis on action. The romance was from a one night stand to insta love, not my favorite trope. The hero made up for this, though, with his quiet strength and gentleness, while still being an alpha SEAL.

The heroine wasn't as endearing to me, for an investigative reporter her helplessness seemed out of character.

One aspect that made this book stand out from others was the authors attention to Jason's background and heritage. Learning about his love of his Hawaiian culture and admiration of his female relatives was a high point.

I wanted a longer story about him and to flesh out the romance more. I didn't get the feels for their attraction, but the rest of the story made up for that.

Jason and Kiley

Too much time spent together from the get-go to be called a one night stand, but a good story just the same. Kiley is jumpy and nervous due to the sex-trafficking series she has written about in Portland.

This is not a relaxing love story, but it will keep you engaged until the end. JD Hart does a good job keeping the characters individualized.

Good Read

It was like old home week. We got to visit with a some of the guys from the earlier books that got me hooked on Ms. Hamilton's SEAL series. That's always fun .
Loved the book and exploring the topic of the fight against kidnapping of young kids for prostitution both abroad and at our own back door.
The "love" (sex)story was a little to hot and heavy for me at the beginning of the book. I like it to grow a little first, get to know the characters a little more.
The characterizations were great. Heroine a little timid, but a firecracker underneath. And I loved how the SEAL though tough and deadly is really just a gentle giant.
An enjoyable read!
Also JD Hart is a fantastic narrator as always.
I was given this book to read and to give a honest review

Jason and Kiley!

Jason has come to Florida to honor his best friend and fallen SEAL teammate’s last wish which is where he meets Kiley. Their first meeting did not go well as it could have as her nervousness and hesitation comes across as being cool and withdrawn.

Kiley finds herself in danger due to a story she was investigating and has come to Florida to keep a low profile until it is resolved. She is drawn to Jason in spite of herself and what starts as a steamy evening evolves into something much deeper, but will it be enough to overcome not only his career but the danger she finds herself in?

I really enjoyed these two together as Jason will do anything to protect the woman he has come to love while Kiley may be scared but there is no doubting her strength and resilience. I thought that the narrator did a great job with not only the pacing but bringing out the personalities of the characters as well.
