It doesn't have to take you that long!
You can learn the basics here in just a few minutes!
This book is here to make things simple! I'm going to break things down and make it so simple, that you’ll understand the basics of guitar theory from day one!
How can this book do that?
I'm sure you've heard people say: “If you want to be a real musician, you have to learn theory.”
Well....
Wrong!

As much or as little as you need!
I know you have commitments, I get it - that's why I wrote this simple reference guide.
This book has been designed with just the basics in mind, and you can turn to it any time for reference.
(I've even included blank charts at the back so you can print off and write your own favourite chords down!)

A brief introduction to music theory
The top secret guitar hack that will have you playing like a pro in no time!

You can get ahead so much faster if you learn a few basic fundamentals to carry you through 90 percent of musical situations!
It really is that easy and simple!

Do you need to be able to read music to play guitar? These are some of the first questions I’m usually asked as a guitar teacher. Over my 25+ year career as a musician and guitar teacher, I have come across many guitarists who cannot read a single note of music or tell you a major triad from a min7flat5 chord. In fact, I think it’s one of the most hotly debated topics in guitar playing circles anywhere around the world, certainly in the online space. I say relax! Which person is a better player? That’s a 100 percent subjective judgement, and it’s not for me to decide.

Why would I want to learn all the notes of my fretboard? Over my 25+ year career as a musician and guitar teacher, I have come across many guitarists who cannot name all the frets on the fretboard. Learning the guitar or music theory for that matter, with no knowledge of the basic fundamental organization of the fretboard is a bit like trying to learn to swim without getting into the water.

Local guitar teachers seem like a great option at first, but you could risk getting stuck with a wannabe rock star who can't really teach you. Or you could try books, but most books are far too bulky and will leave you no better than where you started. Strumming a chord or two is not enough, nor is shredding a mindless solo piece. If you do not understand the essentials of music theory, you will never learn to truly play the guitar.

Fresh off the success of her groundbreaking first play, A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry's The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window tells the tragicomic story of a young bohemian couple in New York's Greenwich Village, struggling to do what's right in a world that rewards everything that's wrong. Sidney is a dreamer who wants his own Walden Pond; Iris is a budding actress whose own backstory is a performance. They're caught in a moment where, "the world is about to crack right down the middle," as the play tackles racism, sexism, antisemitism, homophobia, liberal complacency, and more.

Through interviews with musicians, producers, record executives, and journalists, as well as archival audio, key music and personal storytelling, each episode examines the “shelved” album’s place in musical history, and the spectacles behind each missed or nearly missed release.

Story
The very strange but nevertheless true story of the dark underbelly of a 1960s hippie utopia. Laurel Canyon in the 1960s and early 1970s was a magical place where a dizzying array of musical artists congregated to create much of the music that provided the soundtrack to those turbulent times. But there was a dark side to that scene as well. Many didn't make it out alive, and many of those deaths remain shrouded in mystery to this day.

No one other than Warren Zanes, rocker and writer and friend, could author a book about Tom Petty that is as honest and evocative of Petty's music and the remarkable rock and roll history he and his band helped to write. Born in Gainesville, Florida, with more than a little hillbilly in his blood, Tom Petty was a Southern shit kicker, a kid without a whole lot of promise. Rock and roll made it otherwise.

Why would I want to learn all the notes of my fretboard? Over my 25+ year career as a musician and guitar teacher, I have come across many guitarists who cannot name all the frets on the fretboard.

I struggled for years.. Not anymore!!
I started taking lessons was I was a boy.. Let me tell you my journey with guitar has been bumpy to say the least. When I was in classes, I always felt like the guy who was being left behind. I felt like I was missing something that my peers had, that held me back from progressing faster. Once I found this book my skills completely flipped around. Nick is truly a professional at his art, he helped me discover how I can play guitar better than ever in my life. He has a knack for teaching and boiled it down to a system that for once I understand. Now I am breezing past the people in my classes and literally shocking my teacher of many years. I used to think I didn't have talent but really I didn't have an amazing teacher like Nick! I feel ready now to put on a show at my highschool reunion to impress all my old class mates. I am almost in tears because this book is seriously changing my life. I can't thank you enough! I am going to send a copy of this book to all my guitar class mates and friends. It is seriously that good. The small price I paid for this book is literally priceless. I would have paid $100 for this, which makes this almost free. But don't take my word for it, you have to try it yourself!

So Thankful for this Book!
As I'm just starting to learn the guitar, this book couldn't have come at a better time! It's not full of fluff, but precise and to the point. I feel so much more secure in being able to play and appreciate the simplicity of this book. It's not long, and I didn't feel like I had to wait forever to start learning. Nick is an amazing example of someone who provides value in his books! As a beginner, I needed something like this, and I would highly recommend it.

This is definitely not your typical "learn guitar" cassette tape that you get at the library back in the day. He's got a professional presentation and even the PDF companion booklet is well done.

Essential guide to all guitarists
I have a guitar at home that I attempted to learn many years ago. I like that Nick made this book very informative and easy to follow. I think many beginner guitar enthusiasts will find this book beneficial like I do. It’s not theory dense and contains only the essential information you need to play chords and scales. The chords and scales presented in this book will help improve many musician skills and could be easily incorporated into your music.

Great teacher and content!
I have been playing guitar as a hobby for a few years now. I just learn random songs that I like for fun.
But this audiobook taught me so much in a small time! Really simplified the fundamentals for me. I hadn’t looked in to scales etc so thanks for this!
Awesome job.

Super-valuable! A must have!
This audiobook is so dead simple and fun to listen to it is a must have for anyone learning guitar!
I love how easily accessible this book was! I’ve studied guitar briefly and it was overwhelming for me but this made it much less intimidating for me.
This nugget from the book just blew my mind, “Anything you play in one key - you can play in EVERY other key with EXACTLY THE SAME FINGERING.” Wait what?! I definitely never realized that.
It’s cool that the author narrated the audiobook himself, it really makes it feel like a great private lesson. Not full of theory and fluff, just everything you need to get playing quickly!
The PDF Bonus is such a valuable resource for me, it really helps me be able to retain the information by absorbing it in multiple formats.
Highly recommend!

It was really easy to follow, and everything was explained in the perfect way. Thank you for creating such a handy little guide! Must buy if you want to learn guitar or have more under your belt!
