About this listen

On the borderland between this world and the world of Quiddity, the sea of our dreams, sits Everville. For years, it has lived in ignorance of the gleaming shore on which it lies. But its ignorance is not bliss. Opening the door between worlds, Clive Barker delivers his characters into the heart of the human mystery; into a place of revelation, where the forces that have shaped our past - and are ready to destroy our future - are at work.

Baker's Dream Sea does not disappoint

The sequel to Everv illegal finds us reuniting with Grillo, Tess, Raul, Harry and even little Mave.

The story, even though long, flowed nicely. It helped to tie up loose ends and made for a great read !

Not as good as its predecessor

When "Everville" first came out in 1994, I remember feeling it did not live up to "The Great & Secret Show." That opinion has not changed after 30 years. Chet does another awesome job with the narration, but the overall story is not as compelling, and the new characters are not as solid as those of Palermo Grove. The original characters who return I feel have weaker arcs. I can understand why Clive hasn't released part 3. It's a tough act to follow. However, after meeting him recently he assured me part 3 is coming and it's a "very large book," to quote him exactly. I for one cannot wait!

Long & Detailed

Hard to follow some times. Barker's imagination is infinite and difficult to fathom. 24 years and no 3rd book...

Another prefect narrator and author mix

Chet Williamson, also a horror author, narrated this Second Book of the Art the way he did the first one, The Great and Secret Show, masterfully. He has a seemingly elastic voice, and an incredible head for the sound he has assigned to each of many characters. He truly brings Barker’s epic world to life.

Good Story Great Narrator

Good audio book. Narrator is wonderful. Story was good, no plot twist that was memorable, just a really good story. I would certainly recommend to a friend.
