Finally, cant wait for the rest of the series now!

Would you consider the audio edition of Necroscope to be better than the print version?

yes and no, I love reading but I also dont get enough time to. Listening to the Necroscope book was awesome, I have read it a few times but listening to it brought a new element.

What did you like best about this story?

The way Mr Lumley writes is riveting, I listened to this 17 hour audio book in just under a week, I couldnt shut it off.

What about James Langton’s performance did you like?

He did well switching voices and characters, his accent helped the story along as well IMO due to it being mostly set in England.

Who was the most memorable character of Necroscope and why?

Harry Keogh! He is the master of all things, or will be. What will be, has been!

Any additional comments?

Listen to this and Audible please release the rest of the books!!!!

Waited for so long!

Would you listen to another book narrated by James Langton?

I've heard several by this performer, and though I don't dislike him, neither do I think he fit the book as well as I had hoped.

Any additional comments?

I read these books years ago, and really enjoyed them, I'm thrilled that Audible finally added them to the catalog. I'm hoping the rest of the series is coming soon!

Come and get hooked

This book has long been in my top ten of books to read and series to have. I have a physical copy and have super enjoyed listening to the tale. The character voices were not quite what they were in my head, but I couldn't expect them to be.
When reading the book I was always annoyed when it would switch to a different character and then when it came back, I would be annoyed again, but when listening it all made sense.
This is a classic horror tale featuring cold war villans and british heroes, I would a like a few more female characters (but that happens in further novels).
This is a slow building tale that is well worth it.

Why is this the only one in English?!

Maybe you could put them out in English too... I don't understand the German, is it?, ones. I really love this series, but it has to be read/listened to in the right order for it to make sense!

Perfect narration and great characters

This book is very different from what I’m used to.
I love stories with a first person narrative, like for example the Anita Blake, Dresden Files and Kushiel’s Legacy series.
Inner dialog helps me understand the characters and I feel invested and engaged much easier.

This book isn’t anything like the series I mentioned above, but nevertheless managed to catch and keep my attention.
It’s written in the third person, and it progresses very slowly. More than half the book is background story and ‘setting the stage’. No quick action and instant satisfaction here.
But because of the slow pace, I thought the characters were very well developed, which I enjoyed very much. I really liked the characters, even the bad guys.
I think this world created by Brian is very realistic, like an alternate history with a paranormal twist.
I’m looking forward continuing the series.

The narration was perfect. Quality production, great pacing and characters voices/ distinction.
I also thought James’ voice perfectly matched the serious and sometimes sinister and mysterious tone of the story.

Death is not the end!

I love Brian Lumley's series. Just having a book about people who can speak to dead would have been awesome enough but with all the world spy organization espionage, undead and evil shenanigans this book keeps you roped in the entire way through.
