Charles Bosworth (author) and Kevin Pierce (narrator) were the winning pair in my first true crime read. Many books later I continue to appreciate their talents. This is a good book. Occasionally, I had to remind myself that different people grieve in different ways, but that’s always a good reminder.

Great Pair

Heartbreaking Story

Kevin Pierce is my favorite Male narrator and when he narrates the stories of Charles Bosworth Jr its magical.
Sadly this wasnt my favorite and it may have been the missing element that his other books written with Don Weber have.
All in all heart breaking and great story for true crime fans.

Another great one

I loved this book and had to listen carefully to keep up with many characters involved. Absolutely love Kevin Pierce's reading and voice. Amazing mothers!

Another enthralling listen

The start doesn't grab you at first, but it does pick up. Once the story is learned it becomes interesting. Two mother's share a tragedy but handle it so different. Together they fight to be heard above a lazy and mismanaged Deputy's office. Perseverance is the lesson learned

Slow srart

Narrator Kevin Pierce was great as always. I found myself losing interest about halfway through but managed to finish it.

Great narrator

This story was so well told! I could feel the deep frustration and sorrow of the mothers. I honestly have no words for what they went through during the legal proceedings surrounding this case. Absolutely heartbreaking. Definitely recommend this book!

Great story. I felt like I was in the court room when the guilty verdict was read.

I would listen to Kevin Pierce narrate the dictionary.

Frustrating story

I love Kevin Pierce and he did a great job. The story just didn’t capture my attention. It dragged on when it could have been written in half the amount of time.

Just ok.

I kept waiting for a sympathetic character. The prosecutors were the only ones. The mothers seemed to do nothing but scream and sob uncontrollably. I get that - their tragedy was beyond hideous. But every time one of them said "if he isn't arrested/tried/convicted I have nothing to live for," I wondered how that made their surviving children feel. Like nothing?

Meh
