About this listen

Clever and ambitious, Special Agent Adam Darling (yeah, he's heard all the jokes before) was on the fast track to promotion and success until his mishandling of a high profile operation left one person dead and Adam "on the beach". Now he's got a new partner, a new case, and a new chance to resurrect his career, hunting a legendary serial killer known as the Crow in a remote mountain resort in Oregon.

Deputy Sheriff Robert Haskell may seem laid-back, but he's a tough and efficient cop - and he's none too thrilled to see feebs on his turf - even when one of the agents is smart, handsome, and probably gay. But a butchered body in a Native American museum is out of his small town department's league. For that matter, icy, uptight Adam Darling is out of Rob's league, but that doesn't mean Rob won't take his best shot.

A very enjoyable mystery...

With a bit of romance. I really liked both of the main characters in this book. The mystery was very good-a serial killer on the loose-that held my interest throughout the story. I wish that there were more books in this series! The narrator was excellent, as always!❤️

a mystery till the end love It

loved the story , enjoyed the characters, glad the voices were so clear in creating a clear picture of each character and there pattern of speech
slow romance, which I enjoyed
um I recommend the the book
if u like excitement, mystery and murder with and little romance to top it off
then this is for u , I liked that the whole book didn't focus on sex but the actual plot of the story

So Glad I Chose This One

I'm so glad I picked this title. I tend to go with books in series, but decided to take a chance on this standalone. The narration was excellent and the character development was great as well. I usually love everything by this author, and this title did not disappoint!

Felt a bit unfinished

It was quite good, the set up was interesting and characters quite likeable. The ending felt kind of rushed and the whole resolution deserved a bit more time spent on it imo,

Well...

I I would have to say that this story was interesting. I thought that the pace was pretty slow so when it picked up I was pretty excited. The relationship between two main characters kind of danced around each other. The narrator's voice was a little on the dry side but after you can look past that it turns out to be a really good story. if you like a good mystery story with a little gay romance ,but not much, then this is the store for you. I would have to say the most exciting part about this book was trying to put the clues together to figure out who killed who and what was going to happen next. Like I said earlier, I'm not lying about the pace being pretty slow. So if you are patient it's worth the wait towards the end but if you're not then this book probably isn't for you.

Another Lanyon hit

This is another credit worthy story by Lanyon. I haven't been a fan of his short stories, but I loved his Adrien English series. This mystery is in that vein.
And I always enjoy Gomez Pugh's narration.

wonderful

Justice all of Josh Lanyon books, I loved it. such wonderful characters. Words that build such images I feel I am there. Great mystery and keeps me engaged from beginning to the end. I love that this is a spin off to the art of murder series. Great narration too.

Almost gave up on this one too Josh...but didn't..

Any additional comments?

The story is you..definitely you, thank goodness especially after the last one I read of yours. This got better after the first 4 chapters...so Dear Reader, I'd say go for it and hang in there until the end. I really like Gomez reading your books, Josh.
