About this listen
Explore EXODUS, a new sci-fi action-adventure RPG coming soon from Archetype Entertainment featured in this epic novel from legendary author Peter F. Hamilton.
Forty thousand years ago, humanity fled a dying Earth. Traveling in massive arkships, these brave pioneers spread out across the galaxy to find a new home. After traveling thousands of light-years, one fleet of arkships arrived at Centauri, a dense cluster of stars with a vast array of potentially habitable planets. The survivors of Earth signaled to the remaining arkships that humanity had finally found its new home among the stars.
Thousands of years later, the Centauri Cluster has flourished. The original settlers have evolved into advanced beings known as Celestials and divided themselves into powerful Dominions. One of the most influential is that of the Crown Celestials, an alliance of five great houses that controls vast areas of Centauri. As arkships continue to arrive, the remaining humans and their descendants must fight for survival against overwhelming odds or be forced into serving the Crown Dominion.
Among those yearning for a better life is Finn, for whom Earth is not a memory but merely a footnote from humanity’s ancient history. Born on one of the Crown Dominion worlds, Finn has known nothing but the repressive rule of the Celestials, though he dreams of the possibility of boundless space beyond his home.
When another arkship from Earth, previously thought lost, unexpectedly arrives, Finn sees his chance to embrace a greater destiny and become a Traveler—one of a group of brave heroes dedicated to ensuring humanity’s future by journeying into the vast unknown of distant space.

Story
Dalton Greaves is a hero. He’s one of humankind’s first representatives to Unity, a pan-species confederation working to bring all sentient life into a single benevolent brotherhood. That’s what they told him, anyway. The only actual members of Unity that he’s ever met are Boreau, a giant snail who seems more interested in plunder than spreading love and harmony, and Boreau’s human sidekick, Neera, who Dalton strongly suspects roped him into this gig so that she wouldn’t become the next one of Boreau’s crew to get eaten by locals while prospecting.

Story
From the towering heights of Olympos Mons on Mars, the mighty Zeus and his immortal family of gods, goddesses, and demigods look down upon a momentous battle, observing - and often influencing - the legendary exploits of Paris, Achilles, Hector, Odysseus, and the clashing armies of Greece and Troy. Thomas Hockenberry, former 21st-century professor and Iliad scholar, watches as well. It is Hockenberry's duty to observe and report on the Trojan War's progress to the so-called deities who saw fit to return him from the dead.

But a demon is terrorizing the land, and now she's an adult (albeit barely) with responsibilities (she tells herself). Although she still gets in the way, she understands that the only way to save her people is to invoke the pact between her family and the Elder sorcerer who has inhabited the local tower for as long as her people have lived here (though none in living memory has approached it).

Lynesse is the lowly Fourth Daughter of the queen, and always getting in the way.

Hamilton at his best
Loved this one. Can’t wait for the next installment. Lots of high energy and drama. Hamilton is a master of huge doses of deep tech with excellent storytelling and plot weaving.

You have never read a book like this.
Dense. Intellectual. & Honest.
A serious masterclass in worldbuilding.
Murder Mystery,
political thriller.
Action Adventure.
High Fantasy.
Grandiose Sci-fi.
ALL woven together in an attractive and comfortable fashion.
If I need to critique anything it’s that the dialogue was at points repetitive. **asterias as$…**
But I mean repeat yourself as much as you want.
The world building the pacing the character development all god tier.
Absolutely solid believable universe. Then confidently and logically breaking what I thought was possible to push the story forward.
I continually thought to my self “oh wow I never realized that was possible”
i work in aerospace and really enjoyed the accurate terminology used to describe spacecraft
I’ll also note the use of extremely thoughtful and accurate scientific information.
^^^Looking at that B. R. U. T. A. L. Fusion Drive scene good lord… ^^^
The work was amazing.
Perfectly Dense. It covered a ton of ground. I wish it kept going.
Only reason it’s not a 10/10 is that I got lost occasionally. Misplacing characters places. Etc. I think I could’ve been more attentive.
Really REALLY looking forward to the next book.

An Epic Story-Another Epic World
This is a Peter F Hamilton Science Fiction novel at its finest. I love the descriptions and action packed plot that just keeps me on my toes. I actually thought this novel being less Rated R than his other books added a lot, but of course there’s some tension, and that’s great. Keep up the fantastic work! Choosing to take on this universe was a really good idea!

The complexity of the story and the characters
Not John Lee best performance. Sometimes it was hard to distinguish which character was talking because they sounded a little too similar.

Quite good
You have to skip the first hour or so of the book. It contains a lot of fluff, information dumps, and meaningless descriptions. The names and made-up words in the first hour could all be Greek for as much as I understood anything. I almost returned the book, but when I got past that, the story was quite good. The characters were well fleshed out and the dialog was well written. im looking forward to the next one.
