About this listen

Sometimes salvation comes from the most unlikely hero.

When Tate Gillespie is marked for death for a crime he didn’t commit, his life crumbles. In a world where "justice" is meted out by a relentless military force, he’s going to need more than a mythical guardian angel. His life down to seconds, he’s saved by the mysterious X, a knife-wielding man he's never even met before. But who is X? Is he the man who threatens and kills without a second thought? Or the strangely gentle man who only seems to act that way around Tate?

X is a shadow. A wraith. A man who flits through the city virtually unseen. He’s got no time for people when knives are far more reliable. X does have one weakness though - the man he's been keeping safe for years who doesn't even know it. He'd burn the whole world to keep him alive. But what he won't do is stake his claim. Tate’s not his and he needs to remember that, no matter how close they might become.

With the military in hot pursuit, they’re going to need to rely on X’s skills to keep them both alive. Tate’s feelings are growing with every hour they spend together, but X is a tough nut to crack. Can two people from very different backgrounds really find common ground? Or will one of the many perils they face throughout their long journey drive them apart?

It’s all about survival. Not love. Isn’t it?

Exposed is an action/adventure story featuring two men who couldn’t be more opposite.

Action packed steamy adventure

The bulk of this story is two men running from the bad guys who want them dead. The goal is to first and foremost, escape, but ultimately the goal is to arrive at a safe haven. No matter how many bodies have to drop. It is written to be an epic tale- it takes a LOT of time to get where they’re going. There are very few side characters, so the intensity of the seclusion and constant drive to escape forces the two to become close. The characters are well written- one being monosyllabic at best, a killer yet a savior. The other is scared but brave. There is a secret that has the potential to draw them together or rip them apart. The push/pull of the sexual tension is well written, not overly angsty. Good book overall. Richards narrates with the best of them- making each man’s accent match his personality, distinguishing emotions, vocally portraying adrenaline filled action, as well as intensely intimate scenes with precision and care.

Loved it

I only gave the story 4 stars cause, come only was about as believable as a Disney cartoon, story wise the characters and their personalities one of the things that made it for me, The biggest and best part of the book was the narrator,His voice, The distinct different voices were what made book a hardcore win, In my book, Ill deffintely be looking for more gay audioboks with him as the narrtor!!!!

5+ stars- Even better the second time around

To be honest, there was no question in my mind as to whether I’d enjoy the audiobook of Exposed. I read and absolutely loved the e-book, so the real question was more if the narrator could live up to the X and Tate in my head. I’m also not much of a rereader, so I always get that niggling worry when I do revisit a story that it will have lost some of that initial magic. Happy to say, this audiobook was a resounding success on all accounts…in fact, I may have even fallen in love with this story and these characters that much more the second time around.

Anderson Richards delivers a fantastic portrayal of X and Tate, but then goes beyond by delivering a myriad of secondary characters all with an equal amount of commitment. I loved his voices, effects, intonations, and rhythm. I’m not sure how he was able to shift seamlessly between the hard, stoic edge of X to the cheeky, bright Tate, but I was undoubtedly impressed. His performance brought the scenes to life, conveying the appropriate emotion and energy of each scene without detracting from the exciting storyline. As the story progressed, the performance never wavered and may have even improved to the point that I’ll be hard pressed to not imagine his voices and tones whenever I picture these characters in the future.

When I started Exposed, I definitely didn’t expect to find the story even better the second time around, but that’s exactly what happened. The audiobook made me fall for X and Tate’s unlikely partnership all over again and left me jonesing for more in this universe. Once again, I was pulled into the excitement, eager for the fight and action scenes, and loving the banter. The audio for Exposed is an easy recommendation considering I haven’t stopped mentioning the story to any reader who is looking for a dystopian romance or a great action adventure romance, and the audio is sure to only enhance a reader’s enjoyment.

Excellent and Hard to Put Down

I wish I had been able to listen to this all in one go, because it was extremely hard to turn off when I needed to go to bed. I stayed up way too late every night ‘I’m just going to listen to one chapter’ that turned into five. The storyline was fascinating mc rivoting, and the narrator did a fantastic job with both Tate and X’s voices, as well as the many side characters. I need to hear more from this narrator and author duo. I hope they work together again because I felt like it was the perfect combination.

I typically listen to/read contemporary books, but there was something about the blurb that pulled me in. I’m so glad it did, because I really enjoyed it. I enjoy reading about flawed characters. There’s a lot of beauty in them and their stories. Even when times were as harsh as they were for Tate and X.

I would definitely recommend this audiobook.you won’t regret listening to it.

What would you do for love?

Exposed is a wonderfully written intense suspenseful love story with great world building about Tate and X. Tate is about to be killed for a crime he didn't commit, wrong place wrong time kind of thing, when he's saved by X and his knives. Now they are on the run for their lives, an adventure all on its own. Where can they go and who can they trust? I loved this book. It had me engaged and on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. I loved the connection between Tate and X, even after X reviled a secret he'd been keeping. One I think that actually brought them closer together. I really enjoyed listening to this book and definitely recommend it.
Narrator Anderson Richards does an amazing job.

Best audiobook of the year!

This is my first H.L Day book and I’m an instant fan now. The story was intriguing from start to finish. I had to pace myself because although I wanted to find out what happened next as quickly as possible I also wanted to savor this story. The narrator is also new to me but OMG he is perfection!!!!!! I need more from this duo!
