Their matchmaker folks think it'd be great
If Natalie and Evan would date
Watch them say, "No thanks,"
But plow into the banks
Of the slippery slope where they skate
Natalie East and Evan Lee are determined to stay single. Their parents are just as determined to get them together.
Nat, still reeling from the abrupt end of a three-year relationship, needs to prove to her mother that they are both capable of enjoying successful single lives. Her conventional mother pressures her to date their new friends' self-indulgent and status-obsessed son. The interference drives Natalie wild.
Evan worked like a demon to launch his career. Now he's ready for a devilish amount of fun. While he was achieving success, his parents planned his future; they gush that Natalie is sweet, steady, and ready to settle down. Each message from his family hacks away at his joking, easy-going façade.
When Nat and Evan involuntarily connect over coffee, neither is what the other expected. As their friendship grows and passions emerge, will they risk losing their independent lives? Are they prepared for a journey from lighthearted friends to steamy lovers...or more?

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Fun, lighthearted, humorous and a very enjoyable story with no cliffhanger and a HEA.Even though this book is part of a series, each story can be listened to as a stand alone book. The only thing missing would be the backstory's of Natalie's friends.
While not an original plot it was delivered in a well written, really entertaining, interesting and enjoyable story.
Natalie and Evan make a deal to fool their meddling matchmaking parents while they are each secretly falling for each other. Both Natalie and Evan were great characters. Loved the limericks.
Amy Rubinate as always did a fantastic job with the narration. Very pleasant and easy to listen to voice. Great character voices. I have never listened to a book she has narrated and been disappointed.

"Natalie East and Evan Lee are determined to stay single. Their parents, recent friends, are just as determined to get them together."
After some talking and with reluctance Natalie agrees to meet Evan for coffee and both are surprised that neither is what the other expected. Their friendship grows and passion emerges between the two of them. Will Natalie and Evan risk giving up their independent lives? Will they find that what they thought was important at one time, isn't now? Are they ready for what is happening between them?
I was provided this audio-book at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom. Having said that, I am going to listen to the rest of the series to hear about all the other characters.
Amy Rubinate is one of my favourite narrators and she did a great job with the delivery of the story

Overall this was a quick "good read".
I felt bad for Natalie, the female lead, when her mother hounded her.
I thought Evan and Natalie worked well together and they were fun.
Amy Rubinate did ok with the narration.

Natalie met Evan’s parents on a recent vacation with her mother and the 3 parents are convinced that Nat and Evan would make a great couple. And it just so happens that Evan is moving to Houston for work and wouldn’t Natalie be the perfect person to show him around.
Natalie and Evan are both happy being single and are so focused on their careers that they don’t want a relationship. But Evan turns out needing a ‘plus one’ and doesn’t know who to call so he caves and calls Natalie. They agree to meet for coffee first and lets just say their first meeting didn’t go as expected.
Their eventual friendship helps turn each of them in to stronger, better people and things seem to go well between them when the parents aren’t getting in the way too much.
This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone, you’ll mostly just miss details about some of Natalie’s closest friends.
I enjoyed Amy Rubinate’s performance and would listen to another book read by her.
If you’re looking for a lighthearted HEA with kind, meddling parents, you will enjoy this book.

When you spend as much time as I do with a audiobook in your ear, you really want a pleasant voice and a story that keeps you interested. This book succeeded in spades!Natalie was fun and feisty and REAL. Evan was swoon worthy and flawed. You liked and rooted for them both and even though the ending was predictable, the cast of characters surrounding the two made this listen so much fun.
Great listen!

When Evan & Nat finally agree to meet for coffee, neither is what the other expected. As their friendship grows and desire starts to build up, will they risk losing their independent lives? Are they ready to move on from friends to lovers?
