Publisher's summary

"The best compliment I can give Jaime's work is I'm going to make this required reading for all parents who walk through my door. No joke. Required reading." (Jon Filitti, LMHC, Filitti Counselling)

I hate Jaime Buckley because he wrote the book every therapist should be writing. While listening through it, I kept thinking to myself, "I'm the therapist here! I should have written this!" You see, Jaime does something in this book which is almost utterly impossible to do (which is why I didn't attempt it).

He wrote a book about parenting that is informative and educational. But, more than that, and this is the difficult part, it's concise and entertaining. What? How did he do that? He wrote a book about parenting that takes less than two hours to listen and packed it full of interesting ideas, tips and tricks, and the "musts" of parenting while never getting preachy or pompous.

Listen on; you're about to knock your family's happiness out of the park.

The book I wish I had when we started having kids.

Parenting is hard enough under the best of circumstances. It’s even harder when you have to sift through mountains of fluff to find the gems you’re looking for.

Not so with this book. Four stars just for that fact.

FUNdamentals of Parenting: 12 Fun Strategies To Build Strong Family Relationships is a clear, concise, goldmine of intelligent nuggets any parent can use. Even more impressive is that I think most parents are looking for the information this book contains. Jaime’s instruction is specific, but what impressed me is how he gives both the WHY and the HOW for each point he makes.

It allows me, the parent, to adapt this information to the specific needs of my own family, without compromising how we function!

I’ve both read the book and listened to the audiobook. I recommend both–but if you’d like to truly feel the passion of this author, and hear that experience behind his words, get the audio.

It’ll be the best two hours you’ve invested in your family for a good long while.

Ugh. Snore.

The title implies happiness and fun but this guy's voice will put you to sleep. Not to mention half of the book is his story about his sad life. He eventually gets around to telling you things like have meals with your children, include them in planning etc. Nothing fun. Someone somewhere decided to call this book happy and fun, why I don't know.
