Fable of Happiness

I look forward to more of this intriguing storytelling. If you decide to follow thru with Jereth storyline of tracking down the rest of the brother and sister. I would find it to be worthy a read . Jereth polite is a story to tell . Not so much the raw killing . Don't ever change the duo make and female voices on you Audible. Two voices are and always will enhance the reading of a novel. I will repeat myself. This series was raw, addicting, decadent and very intense at times. Worthy read!

Please Tell Me This Will Continue With Jareth!

Always well written, intense stories with angsty characters surviving horrendous situations. Monumental hate, healing, and love...

A whole new world!

The heroine: Gemma - Taken captive while rock climbing far off the beaten path in Mammoth Cave National Park after trespassing into a stone mansion that was hidden in a forgotten valley. Gem has since fallen for the man who took her. She has empathy for what he went through and wants to help him.

The Hero: Kassen - he was the only one of his family left in his valley. He has lived alone for eleven years until Gemma arrived. Every time the memories of his abusive childhood would try to resurface, he would shove them into a box in his mind, though they have been pushing themselves back out more and more and he has been losing time and is afraid of what he becomes during those times.

The Story: Another huge cliffhanger ended the last book. I started this one right away after finishing, I just couldn’t wait to see what happened. A figure from Kas’s past resurfaces, threatens Gemma and brings about a big change.

The book was told in dual points of view and narrated by Tor Thom and Charley Ongel. I loved the narration in these books, the narrators are perfect for the characters. I especially loved Tor Thom’s deep and menacing inner voice. Like the first two books, the narration in this one was dual narration in every chapter no matter whose point of view it was in.

I don’t want to give away anything more than I already did above, but to say that I really liked the fact that each book in this trilogy took an entirely different direction than the prior books and kept things very interesting throughout the trilogy.

Also I just can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed these books since I usually don’t like the tortured Hero trope, especially when they delve into the torture. But this series went deeply into Kas’s past and I liked it. It really showed how PTSD can affect a person, in a way, it is a commentary on getting over a tragic past. This was a terrific ending to a great trilogy.

Very Good Series

The storyline for this series was so good; spoke to issues that prove problematic today. The full spectrum of feelings was elicited from hate, pain, abuse, love, etc. Both narrators did a fantastic job with with Gemma and Cass; they were the best choice of narrators for the series. I hope to find more interesting books to listen to with this much depth. Will be added to my favorites list.

Wow ... absolutely amazing!!

I am sooooo sad that this series is over... I laughed, cried, gasped, cried, swooned, and cried. This book seriously gave me all the feels. I had the pleasure of receiving an audible copy of this and the narrators did such an amazing job of telling the story. Seriously, this whole series has been a roller coaster and I've never quite had a series give me so many feels.

This book shows the ending of Fables house (thank God!), Kas and Gem being rescued, Kas trying to adapt to a whole new world and heal along with still having severe PTSD and concussion. My favorite part is when he rescues Fang. I love that dog. And Jareth.... omg. I just want to hug him and tell him that the monsters are gone!

This story is a roller-coaster and their journey had many difficulties but love prevailed. ❤️

I received an ALC for my honest review!

Best series of the year!

There are books I listen to, then there are books that linger. This one is lingering, you know that book hangover that won't let you dive into the next one. I knew this series was going to be phenomenal. It's based on my favorite fairy tale. Then Pepper Winters blows me away with the first two in the series leaving me a need for answers and resolution. I wasn't prepared for the emotional wear and tear on my heart! We pick up where book 2 leaves off, and meet Kas's brother Jareth. Not sure about his motives in the beginning, he is rough, dangerous and a little crazy. But his heart is true and remains with his family. Kass is wary, but he knows his brother. And when Jareth does the unthinkable, Kas and Gemma's life will change forever. Taking in everything that has happened, I am in awe of the story. To know it's a fairy tale, but realize the horrors do exist is mind boggling. Then we have the characters. Gemma is fantastic. By his side from start to finish, her love is unconditional and it pours through Kas. She is the calm and she knows he is worth the fight. Now to Kas. What a superb character. His emotional journey still has me torn up. His darkness is a huge part of him, and to see the goodness shining through made my listening experience incredibly breathtaking. And on that, I will start the narration.

Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are the story tellers, and I can't say enough good things about this performance. I am not a person who cries when I listen, but this story, this team, this gut wrenching emotional journey had tears in my eyes, love in my heart and a need to hear more. Thom is exceptional as Kas. He pours himself into this tortured soul, and you can tell he is feeling every single thing Kas does. Ongel's portrayal of Gemma comes through with a feeling of comfort and love that is second to none. Winters knew what these two would bring to our ears, and it is nothing short of perfect.

Believable Story

This series was really good. The story and the characters are very believable. I’m sorry there are only three books in this series. I was sad for it to end.

Emotional read

Fable of Happiness 3 was such an emotional ride. I loved it so much. it truly was such an emotionally powerful book. It takes you on Kas's path of mentally and emotionally healing. I love how much Gemma loves and trusts Kas. She is willing to do anything for him and understands his limits and needs. The part where Kas finds Fang was the break through and had me crying. Kas went through so much but is willing to do whatever he can to save/help others like him. Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are fantastic narrators. You can feel the struggles and emotions of both characters. Amazing job with this book/series Pepper Winters. It is one that will stick with me forever.

intense and emotional

The trilogy is over, and I have no idea what to do with my life now. This story is on a whole new level of dark romance. It’s raw, emotional, twisted, powerful, commanding, distributing, and erotically mesmerizing. This final book is about healing, strength, loyalty, and love. Gemma and Kassen have an uncontrolled passion for each other that only intensifies with each book. Their story is cataclysmic, manic, savage, and all-consuming. The storyline and characters are so intricate and unique, and the setting is beautiful, despite the horrors in Fables’ history. The ending was beyond perfect. The strength it took for Kas to work his pain and give himself fully to Gem is awe inspiring. Their relationship is full of honestly, loyalty, trust, and determination. Together, they can conquer anything life throws at them. Pepper Winters, thank you for Kas’ beautiful journey. You had me in tears. You’ve truly outdone yourself. I don’t want to give away anything because this is one of those stories you must experience for yourself. But be forewarned, there are major trigger warnings with this trilogy, and not recommended for anyone with sensitivities to certain traumatic aspects. 5-Zillion Emotional Stars!

Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are absolutely perfect for the roles of Gemma and Kassen. The way they expertly duet this book (in dual narration format) will leave you captivated and on the edge of your seat. The push and pull between Gemma and Kassen throughout the series was intense, as was the whole storyline in general. There were so many different emotions ranging from anger and violence to love, along with extremely emotional and gut-wrenching scenes of abuse, processing pain, and healing. Tor and Charley made you feel all this intensity in heart. This was storytelling at its best. Kas is such a tortured soul who’s endured far more than most could manage. Tor brilliantly portrayed him. Charley reflected Gemma’s kindness and selflessness so perfectly. You could feel the love Gem felt through Charley’s voice. These two narrators were connected body and soul to their characters, and it showed. 1000% MUST listen!!!

Wow. Epic.

I was already hooked but this completely took me through the ringer. The narrators are just absolutely perfect for these characters. They pull me in and never let go. My heart was all over the place. I burned with them and for them. Such an epic conclusion. Wish I could listen to it for the first time again. But I know I will definitely have to listen to this whole series again. There is just so much emotional depth in their voices. I never wanted it to end.
