This was a mediocre Regency story that followed the typical Regency novel format.. This story had potential to be so much better though... and most annoyingly the lead female character was a fool.

I love Stephanie Lauren's books, especially her Cynster novels but this one was so boring that I quit half way through. To be honest I wasn't sure if it was the reader or the story. The reader was monotonous and deadpan.

If you like a hypocrite who basically refers to the objecr of his affection as a whore (because she slept with him), then you'll like it. Also, hero had an um, "mulatto" mistress. Kept waiting for self-awareness. Didn't happen.

This book is a good read but not the best of Stephanie that I have read and love. The narrator however, was horrible! Her voices for the male characters were horrendous and there is like a high pitch to her voice that was painful to listen through my car stereo. I honestly believe another narrator would have made this book a great read!

Good story, bad narrator!

If you like a romance with a feisty Heroine and dedicated Hero in regency style this one is for you.

Good book, but based on the several audio books I have purchase with this narrator, I will probably not purchase any other books done by her.

Good book, but terrible narration
