About this listen

I met him at the end of my sword.

Not exactly romantic, but attraction arced between us like lightning. A rare and beautiful connection.

Too bad he's a fairy - a hunter, no less. Nothing can happen between us, it's forbidden. Besides, I have bigger issues to deal with. Like a bioweapon that can destroy the entire human race.

We have to work together, but I'm a professional. I can ignore the way he stares at me as if I'm already his and the way my heart races when I look at him.

No problem. And if that doesn't work, I can always kill him.

This is a really good book!

I really liked this book and the narrator. Too bad this is the only book in the series that is on Audible. I hope they will be more.

EXCEPTIONAL STORY

Author Amy Sumida teamed up Stephanie Nemeth-Parker did an amazing job of writing and telling of this story. The story is well written and grabs you from the start till the end. It's a true fantasy novel just the right amount of action and romance to keep you compelled that you didn't want to stop. Stephanie performed the story masterfully. This is book 1 of the series and can't wait for more in the future!

Awesome story

Great story! Narrator did a good job. I really liked that it was a romance but wasn't overly focused on the steamy aspect. The main focus was the story. Now on to the next book in the Twilight series!

Needs a better mystery/adventure but an ok read

This felt like I was reading an outline to a story. Here are all of the characters, key points, villians, potential love interest, and a possible plot. Nothing felt complete for me. The story started off with a long explanation to explain the world of the characters. This is a no-no for me. Explain within the actual story or through the actions of the characters. Don't actually give a thesis at the beginning of a story.... unless it is Once Upon a Time 😊

Then we have the Fae characters. Other than living in Fairie, the fae in this book could just be regular magicians. Nothing felt "Fae/Fairie" about them.

The last star taken away is for the incest talk at the dinner table. It was completely unnecessary. Some of the Beta readers should have questioned how that conversation moved the story forward... it didnt. Should have been deleted.

This wasn't the worst story, but it was so average that it drowns in the C+ waters. The second book needs a better adventure, more drama, or at least a mystery.

If the next book becomes available in audio then I'll try it out. I've heard the next few books are very good. I hate that I didnt get the feels for this as my friends did.
