About this listen

From the USA Today bestselling author of White Out comes a story of two heroines with shattered pasts and a town with blood on its hands.

When a North Dakota couple is shot down in their home in cold blood, the sleepy town of Hagen wakes with a jolt. After all, it’s usually such a peaceful place. But Detective Kylie Milliard knows better.

Despite not handling a homicide investigation in years, Kylie is on the case. A drop of blood found at the scene at first blush promises to be her best evidence. But it ultimately only proves that someone else witnessed the murder - and the results are shocking: the DNA reveals a familial match to a crime involving local nurse Lily Baker from over a decade ago. This unveiling stirs new nightmares for Lily as she’s forced to reckon with the most traumatic time in her life.

Haunted by their pasts and hunting the killer, Kylie and Lily uncover hellish secrets and impossible truths, finding answers that put both their lives in jeopardy.

Secrets...Lies...Murder...What's not to love?

Oh but this book though! I didn't know that I could love Danielle Girard any more, and honestly at the beginning I thought that I was going to hate this book, but OH HOW THAT CHANGED! I have read if not all...just about all of Danielle Girard's books! I think it is save to say that she is absolutely one of my all-time favorite authors and if I ever doubted it before, Far Gone solidified it for sure!

Secrets, lies, murder, and an unknown witness...what's not to love about that? I don't want to go too in depth because you just really need to read the greatness of this story and take it all in for yourself and I don't want to take any chances on giving any of it away because you just need to experience this for yourself! There are so many twists and turns that you better buckle up!

The characters are in-depth and well thought out and intertwine with the story perfectly. There's a story within a story, maybe within a story, so there's nothing about this book that I didn't love!

I don't care if it's in the Badlands Thriller Series or a Standalone or part of another series, but I am ecstatic for the next Danielle Girard book, whatever it may be! It cannot come soon enough for me!

Far Gone was narrated by Whitney Dykhouse, and although I don't recall ever listening to her before, I think she did a pretty good job presenting this story!

Overall...this book should be far gone to the top of the best sellers list...for sure! There's a lot to follow, but if you're up to the challenge, then you should be rewarded in the end!

Good read. nice ending. some parts too unrealistic

Good wring grammatically. flowed well most of the time. too detailed in some areas. section saving injured son too extensive, gory and boring as an example. like most dramatic fiction, some scenes taken beyond believeable or credible levels.

Good plot but.....

The story was good and so was the reader. She has a pleasent voice and is easy to listen to, however 2 points in the book bothered me. One is the hanging of blood in the ER. Even emergency blood you dont hang it up and wait on the patient to get there. There is a time window involved to hang blood. Yes, I work in a blood bank.
The most weird thing was when Chase arrived wearing sweats but after the accident he was in jeans. He did not have time to change. Good story though.

Far Gone--Danielle Girard Grants Is Another Hit!

Danielle Girard has done it again ---given the readers an exceptional thriller. The kind of story that starts in high gear and doesn't let go of you until she is done with you. You do need to pay attention as every word has selected as it is the best word, the exact word, no other will do.
Our Vocal star, Whitney Dykhouse, brings her many talents and puts all of us, making those perfect words come alive.
Our story is woven with doctors, nurses, emergency ward, hospitals, an old terrible crime not really closed, twists and turns, illegal drug traffickers, a baby, and more to keep the reader spellbound!
I highly recommend this outstanding book ! Reading the first book in the series is not necessary, although it is awesome!

A Good Thriller

This one had some twists I definitely didn’t see coming! I hope there are more in this series! So good.

Riveting story!

We met Lily in book 1 and, while not necessary to enjoy this book without reading bk 1, it is recommended, A young girl witnesses the murder of a husband and wife…she happens to be the daughter of a prominent doctor, with whom Lily works. Now that girl is missing and the killer is after her. Many secrets are revealed and some are devastating. Definitely recommend this series.

Great story

Kept me engaged and suspended. The narrator was a bit challenging - her tone in places a little artificial. Otherwise I enjoyed this thoroughly

Great book and Narration

I read a LOT of books, averaging about 1 a day by using whisper/sync, so I can hear it when I am unable to sit to read. With that said, Danielle does a great job with her books. They are very realistic, I don’t find myself saying “that couldn’t even be close to being true.” Mystery and thrillers are one of my favorite genres, and trust me, Danielle does it perfectly!
