About this listen

Following in the tradition of Ghost Rider and Traveling Music, Rush drummer Neil Peart relates nearly four years of band tours, road trips, and personal discoveries in this introspective travelogue. From the ups and downs of a professional artist to the birth of a child, this revealing narrative recounts 22 adventures from rock's foremost drummer, biker enthusiast, husband, and father. Both playful and insightful, Peart's love of drumming and the open road weaves throughout the stories as Neil explores horizons that are both physical and spiritual, sharing his observations about nature, society, and the self.

The audio version of this book is read with such monotone that it may as well have been performed by Neil’s navigation. Excellent content, however.

I wish Neil could have read this himself.

I love listening to Neil’s stories, and Brian’s narration is equally enjoyable. I highly recommend all seven of Neil’s books.

It has a lot of insight into Rush songs and a lot of stories about roadcraft while biking across the Americas.

Great for bikers or Rush fans

Far and Away: A Prize Every Time was a great read by Neil Peart. Rush drummer Neil Peart let's you ride with him along the backroads of North America, Europe, and South America. He shares his experiences and personal reflections along with full color photos. These twenty-two stories span four years of open letters. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

I really enjoyed this book, but not as much as Ghost Rider. Maybe I just related more to Ghost Rider, but I still would listen/read again and would definitely recommend this.

In addition Brian Sutherland did a excellent job narrating.

Good Read... or listen. Smooth Narration.

Neil reflects on every day life, riding a motorcycle around the USA, history of certain regions and geology, and throw a little philosophy in for good measure. So well written.

More than riding or travel.
