About this listen

This audiobook includes an interview with Ozzy Osbourne from 2009.

People ask me how come I'm still alive, and I don't know what to say. When I was growing up, if you'd have put me up against a wall with the other kids from my street and asked me which one of us was gonna make it to the age of 60, with five kids and four grandkids and houses in Buckinghamshire and California, I wouldn't have put money on me, no f--king way. But here I am: ready to tell my story, in my own words, for the first time.

A lot of it ain't gonna be pretty. I've done some bad things in my time. But I ain't the devil. I'm just John Osbourne: a working-class kid from Aston, who quit his job in the factory and went looking for a good time.

Great from start to end

Ozzy has lived and incredible life.
The narration was great and I laughed my ass off at some of these stories.
So much good stuff to this one.

Diverse and entertaining.

This books pace, gradually builds and by the end, you'll wish there was more. No matter how well you though you knew Ozzy, you will have to think again. Nikki Sixx's book was so repetitive and became predictable. This book will have you laughing and crying. The shock and awe and the embarrassing moments we can all relate to. I have a new found respect for Ozzy, Black Sabbath and Ozzy's family.

Funniest book I've listened to

I'm an Ozzy fan since childhood. I was not expecting this book to be so funny. I have pulled my truck over a couple of times listening because I was laughing so hard I thought I might cause and accident. This guy has lived the craziest life. 14 hours spent with this book is worth every second. They need to make a movie out of it. Rupert Farley's performance of it is part of the reason it's so funny. His delivery is very Ozzy-esque and is right all the way through.

Excellent audiobook!

I've listened to it twice since purchasing it and will probably listen again one day. Excellent story telling, excellent narration and always interesting.

This book follows Ozzy's life from growing up in Aston to being the Ozzy everyone knew from MTV's The Osbourne's. It focuses on mostly Sabbath and his solo work in the 80's but touches on everything.

He's truly a living legend. Sabbath and Ozzy's solo work are what created heavy metal as we know and love it. Heavy with great melodies that you can sing or hum along with. Anyone that hasn't sung along to his music or played air guitar to half his songs is probably lying!

He's deeply flawed, sometimes a truly horrible person and this is a worts and all look at the man, the myth, the legend, Ozzy.

Eye-Opening & Amazing Book

I grew up in the 80s, and went to Ozzy's concert when he came to Hawaii. What an amazing show. Such a talent! I have to admit, listening to this audio book sort of peeled back that "crazy rock n roll" persona and gave you a glimpse into the man, the husband, and father as he rose to fame, along with his lifelong addictions. Very, very interesting listen. Would recommend.
